Chapter 8

The next morning Nik picks me up. I climb into the car and lean over to give him a kiss.

"Good morning beautiful." He says with a smile.

"Good morning handsome."

He starts driving towards school. He reaches over a laces his fingers with mine. I smiley warmly at him. "You ready for school" I ask.

"Well I'm anxious to see how Damion, Michael, and Brent will take the news of you being off the market."

"I'm sure they will be fine."

"Riley sometimes I wonder if you are truly clueless or your just pretending to be."

"I'm just pretending to be. I know they all liked me. I'm not blind."

"Really, then what about with me?''

"Yeah, with you... I did notice. I just wanted to see how long it would take before you said something.''

"What do you mean?''

"Before you picked me up on Friday I texted Allison and Brittany. I told them that I wanted one of them to dare me to kiss you.''

"Seriously?!''

"What? I needed to know how you felt about me.''

"Why didn't you just ask?''

"Cause I wanted you to be able to tell me on your own.''

We sit in silence till we get to the school. "Ri, I love you more than anything. Don't ever forget that. I have always loved you and always will.'' Nik says to me. He leans in and kisses me.

"And I love you...forever.''

We get out of the car and start walking toward the doors. I lace my fingers with his and he smiles at me. We get to our lockers and grab our books.

"See you at lunch dork?'' I say with a smile.

"See you at lunch brat.'' He says. I stand on my tiptoes and brush my lips against his.

I walk to class and get to my seat. I turn and stare out the window. When the teacher starts talking, I turn to pay attention and I notice Vanessa sitting by me instead of Damion. I shake it off. The next few classes drag until the lunch bell finally rings. I'm not feeling well today, I'm just extremely tired. I hurry and grab my lunch and head towards the quad. Before I get to the doors Allison runs up to me.

"Riley... is it true?''

"Is what true?''

"Ok I have a few questions. Did our plan work? Also is it true that you rejected Damion's offer to homecoming? And can I sit with you at lunch?''

"to answer all your questions in order. Yes, yes, and yes.''

She squeals with delight . "That was for answers 1 & 3. For the second answer Damion is pissed.''

"Come on let's go warn Nik.''

We head out to the quad and see a group of people surrounding Nik and Damion. "Shit'' I turn to Allison. "Go find Brittany and Vanessa. Tell them to come here.''

"What are you going to do.''

"Well I am the only one who can stop a fight without getting hurt.''

"True. Ok I'll be back in a flash.'' she turns and runs back inside.

I head over to the group and squeeze in between Michael and Brent. "So what's going on?'' I ask.

They both jump at the sound of my voice. "Holy shit Riley. When did you get here?'' Michael says clutching his chest.
