Chapter 14

I wake up in a hospital room. I look around and only see Nik sitting next to my bed. "Hey..."

He looks up at me. "Hey..." he comes over and climbs into the bed with me and holds me. "Why didn't you tell me you weren't feeling good?"

"I tried when I went back to the gym. I told you I needed to talk to you. But you wanted to dance and at that time I didn't feel like I was going to pass out. I didn't until right after my little speech." I look away embarrassed.

He tilts my face to his. "I'm sorry. I should have listened to you. I just wanted tonight to be special for you. And yeah some speech."

"Yeah I don't know what I was thinking. I am like 99% sure that it was Damion and Vanessa who did the paint thing. What happened after I passed out?"

"Well that would be a question for someone else."

"Why"

"Well I ran out after Damion."

"What? You just left me?"

"No I left you with our friends. They were the only ones not laughing at us. And they have been by our side through all of this. I told them to get you to the van and call your parents. I told them I would be right back. Then I followed Damion."

"But why did you follow Damion."

"Cause after you passed out he was pointing and laughing at you, plus I saw purple paint on his hands. So I followed him and when I caught up to him in the locker room I punched him and he passed out. Then I got to you and the van."

"You just left him there?"

"Yup I didn't care, all I knew after that was I needed to get to you." He smiles at me.

"You know I love you right."

"Yeah and I love you." He kisses me sweetly.

Then the door opens and our friends come in. "Hey how are you feeling?" Ashley asks as she stands at the end of the bed with Brittany, Michael, and Brent.

"Come here all of you." They all come around the bed. I grab Ashley's hand, then put Brittany's on top of Ashley's, then Michael's, and then Brent's. I put mine on top of everyone's. Nik puts his arm around me. I look up to all of them with tears in my eyes. "You all are truly the best friends a girl could ask for. I meant what I said at the dance. You guys have been here for Nik and I when you could have just ignored us. We cant thank you enough for everything you have done."

"Especially for Riley here. If you guys hadn't been here I don't know how I could have survived. Your support has meant the world to us. Michael, Brent, I know Damion is your friend, but he went to far tonight. But I would be honored if you would be my groomsmen for our wedding." He smiles at me.

"And I'm sorry Ashley, Brittany, but I am pretty sure Vanessa was also involved. But I would especially love it and would be honored if you both could be my maids of honors. You two are the only girl friends I have and you both have made me feel welcome on the squad and everyday at school. You two are the best."

Michael and Brent look at each other, then Ashley and Brittany look at each other. They all turn to Nik and I. In unison they all say "Yes!" We all laugh and they lean down to give us hugs.

"Nik and I haven't officially decided when we are getting married yet."

"Riley...I wanted to talk to you about that. With almost losing you four times during the last hospital stay, I want to get married as soon as possible. And your favorite time of the year is coming up. Lets get married on Christmas eve." Nik says with a smile.
