The Barrier

Uma, Harry, Gil, Celia, the rest of the pirates and I watched the TV as Ben and Mal were about to tell the rest of Auradon about the barrier being closed for good.

"Lady Mal and I want to thank you for celebrating our engagement with us today. I couldn't be prouder or happier to call you my queen." Ben smiled at her and I tried not to gag. She's still my sister and that's gross. "So, raise your glasses to our future queen of Auradon." The others they were talking to said 'to our Queen of Auradon'. I heard Jay and Carlos call for a speech through the TV.

"I can't." Mal spoke. "I can't be Queen of Auradon." there were gasps and she whispered something to Ben. "We made a decision to close the barrier forever." Uma and I exchanged looks. What is Mal doing? "And it was my idea. But it's wrong. I've learned that you can't live in fear because it doesn't actually protect you from anything. You never know where the bad is gonna come from. And you never know where the hero's are gonna come from either. Without Uma, her pirates and Hunter, Auradon would be gone." We smiled at the TV. "And without Hades, my father." Mal paused so people could gasp. Wow, she just went out and told everybody, huh. I got a few glances from isle kids who didn't know Mal was my sister until now. "Audrey would be gone. We are all capable of good and bad. No matter which side of the barrier we come from." Does this mean what I think it means? "And that's why I can't be queen of just Auradon. I have to be queen of the isle too." She turned to Ben. "And it's time that we take the barrier down, forever."

"We can't do that." Ben's dad voiced and Ben turned to him.

"It's up to us, dad." Ben told him and his dad nodded. "I chose to be a king who moves forward. It's time for forgiveness. It's time for new beginnings. The barrier will come down." Ben announced and we all cheered. Fairy Godmother handed Mal the wand as Evie, Jay and Carlos joined them.

"To make the world a better place, we have to do it face to face." They said on the TV and we all ran outside. The ground shook as the barrier disappeared and we all celebrated. A bridge appeared between the isle and Auradon before our eyes. A bunch of isle kids came out to look and everyone was gasping at the sight. Uma and I locked eyes and smiled.

"Our plan." We both said at the same time, high-fiving. Uma, Celia, Harry, Gil and I ran to the top of the structure, knowing what was about to happen next.

"It's time to bring together, time for a brand new start." Uma sang.

"We're gonna put it in motion, break down what keeps us apart." I sang and the next part we both sang.

"No more, no division we down, new team, got the vision, unite, so we stand, now we living marching, In the light, one two, one two like"

"I see you." Uma.

"You see me." Me.

"Imperfect, perfectly, face to face, we can see clearly our similarities like, day and night, wrong or right."The others walked over. "We come together for a good time."

"We're gonna break this down, we're gonna rock the town, everyone all around." We nodded and ran down the opposite stairs. "Let's be whoever like this, stronger together like this."

"Believing in second chances." Uma.

"And we're all starting today." Celia.

"Marching on in a new land." Harry.

"Our world's a better, a better place." All. "Welcome, the addition, new love."

"Unity, new beginning for us." I sang.

"Harmony, that's the mission marching." Uma.

"In the light, one two, one two like, I see you, you see me." We led the way across the bridge while the other VK's followed. "Imperfect, perfectly, face to face, we can see clearly our similarities like, day and night, wrong or right, we come together for a good time." We reached the Auradon kids and all danced together. "We're gonna break this down, we're gonna rock the town, everyone all around, just be whoever like this, stronger together like this." I took Evie's hand and spun her with a smile. "We reunited like this." We all ran towards Auradon. "Bringing it, bringing it, b-b-b-bringing it down, bringing it, bringing it, b-b-b-bringing it down, bringing it, bringing it, b-b-b-bringing it down, bringing it, bringing it, b-b-b-bringing it down, down!" The Auradon kids went back on they're side while we all watched them. Ben bowed to us and everyone followed his lead. We shouted in joy and ran over to them, getting into partners. Naturally I was with Evie. I spun her as we all danced and slid. "We're gonna break this down, break this down, we're gonna rock the town, oh, we're gonna rock this town, everyone all around, oh, around, just be whoever like this, stronger together like this, we be united like this." We bowed to the girls who curtsied. "We're gonna break this down, we're gonna rock the town, everyone all around, just be whoever like this, stronger together like this stronger together like this, we reunited like this. Bringing it, bringing it, b-b-bringing it down." We all finished and celebrated. A purple paper mache dragon with a crown flew around and I laughed. I held my hand out and caught Evie as she spun into me. I dipped her and smirked.

"Hey, Blue. Did you miss me?" I asked and Evie laughed.

"Nope." She answered, popping the 'p' and I rolled my eyes.

"Sure you did."

"I bet you missed me more."

"Oh yeah." I leaned down and we kissed as everyone continued dancing. We stood up and danced by Uma and Harry.

"You know what, Mal came through." Uma said, looking at Mal who was in the middle of a crowd of people.

"She always does." Evie smiled.

"So is she definitely taken?" Harry asked, pointing to Jane.

"Definitely." Evie answered and I placed my hands on her waist.

"So's Evie." I smirked down at her as Uma elbowed Harry in the arm.

"What's my name?"

"Uma." Harry said and leant down to kiss her. Uma backed up and walked off. Evie andI laughed as Harry looked stunned. Evie pulled me away to go dance and I looked back to see Harry stop Audrey from falling. They started dancing and I shook my head, laughing some more. Evie and I danced over to Mal and Ben as we spotted my dad arriving.

"Am I invited to the wedding?" He asked and Mal saw him.

"Hi, dad." Ben accidentally said as he was nervous. Mal ran over and hugged dad. Evie and I walked over, hand in hand.

"I'm sure you two will be very careful together." He said and Mal hugged Ben. While she wasn't looking dad frowned at Ben and gave him the 'I'm watching you' gesture. Ben looked even more nervous and I laughed some more.

"Dad." I said and he turned to me. "Meet Evie, Evie this is my dad." I motioned and Evie curtsied.

"It's lovely to officially meet you, Ms. Queen." Dad said, giving her a sort of bow and Evie smiled at him.

"And to you as well. Now if you'll excuse us." Evie said politely and pulled me away to dance some more.

Evie, Mal, Carlos and Jay went through first as confetti was fired. Then Ben, Jane, Audrey, Chad and I went through. And finally Uma, Harry, Gil, Dizzy and Celia ran through. All the adults and other teenagers followed as we all continued to dance. Evie grabbed my hand with a smile as we ran towards the castle. I smiled at her and lit my hair on fire as we ran. I can't wait to see what comes next.
