"Emma honey wake up" my moms sound came next to me.

As I opened my green eyes I found both my mom and dad,William and Charlotte Dean, looking at me wearing a relaxed smile looking their finest.

It appears that I fall asleep while watching tv.

"We missed you so much" said my dad giving me a hug. Even at that small amount of time that I spend with them I had always been a father daughter.

Looking at them now I realized that they haven't changed a bit. My dad with his black hair with a white locks here and there, His green kind eyes and his dimples showing. His suit looks like It had just been ironed and his face looks wrinkle free.

My mom has a tall brown hair and blue eyes with a fair skin. She still looks young and beautiful, wearing a black dress that hugs her curves. It looks like she has been working out.

"What time is it?" I said yawning with sticky eyes.

"8 AM" said my dad looking tired.

"What don't tell me that you guys just came from the hospital" I asked lifting an eyebrow.

"We didn't have a choice there was an accident and six patients had to be treated. Believe me we wanted to come and get you from the airport but we couldn't leave"my mom explained.

"Its fine you wouldn't have expected it and I know it is your duty, I am going to go and change" I said getting up from the sofa

"Ok breakfast in an hour" my mom said sternly "we just came to see you and change our clothes we have to be in the hospital at 11"

I started going up to my room, hiding my anger.

                               ..........................................................................................

The best tradition that hasn't been cut from our house is that my mother is still cooking breakfast for us. She never let the cook do it as long as I am home.

After finishing breakfast which was filled with my voice filling them with what they had missed since their last visit, my parents left me alone to go to the hospital.

I decided to go for a stroll in the neighbourhood as there was nothing better to do in this whole house in the morning.

I started heading to the park that I used to play at which hasn't change from 5 years ago when they updated the sliding. I had always loved that park as it is one of the most peaceful places to visit.

As I was strolling, my legs took me to Batch's ice-cream ,which was at the borders of the park, as if moving without my orders knowing its way. I used to go there daily trying every taste they got.

"Good morning" said a guy who I have never seen before.

"Good morning, Is Mike here?" Mike is the owner of the place, an old man with a good sense of humor who opened this place 25 years ago when he moved here with his wife.

"Got work outside of town. He will come in a couple of days" I heard the opening of the door behind me but didn't give it a second thought.

"Ok umm.. I would like-"

"Chocolate chip ice-cream" came a well known voice behind me with the perfect answer.

Before turning around I knew who that was and a huge smile was drawn on my face.

Next thing I know I was hugging her and both of us were laughing.

"Jane you didn't tell me that you were coming this year"

"I heard that you arrived yesterday and couldn't help but to take the first flight from New York to be here" said my best friend from 11 years.

Jane and I grew up together with being neighbors and our families close friends. We went to the same school, took piano lessons together and were each others ears. What separated us was college with her running after her dream of becoming an engineer in NYU and me a doctor in Stanford.

She was the most beautiful girl in high school. The one with grey eyes with a tint of blue and brown hair, the cheerleader that every boy tried to date even though she was a total tomboy type of a girl. She was a unique combination.

After getting our ice creams , we decided to walk back home and catch up.

"You still with Liam?"

"What noooo we separated 3 months ago and I dated 2 boys after him, keep up woman" she said making a disgusted face. I had never liked Liam. they had been dating for 7 months but I never see him as the right person for Jane.

"Sorry sorry but that means that we didn't talk for 3 months" I stated while giving her diggers.

"I was busy so did you. Dr Emma" she said rolling her eyes at me.

"I could have made a time in my schedule for your phone call" I know how hard the last term had been for both of us but thats Jane we are talking about. I always have time for her.

"I know you would but I had projects that needed to be done. Its not easy to be in engineering school"

"For how long are you going to stay here?"

"For about 2 weeks "

"Leaving too soon"

"I have so many projects to be done. You can come and visit instead of being stuck here." she said while taking the last bit of her ice cream "You will never guess who I met in college"

"Who Who??" I asked curiously while taking a huge spoon of my ice-cream.

"Michael"

"Who exactly is Michael?" I asked with a questionable face.

"The one who was in the football team, Older than us by a year, who you always had the hots to my distant cousin" she said after each shook of head.

"Oh that Michael" I said remembering the past. He was a part of my worst memories and one of the reasons that made me dreading coming to Seattle.

Sensing my sadness Jane changed the subject and we started talking about life for hours until we reached home, surprisingly the road that usually takes half an hour, took 3 hours with her and we didn't even realize it. We said our goodbyes with a promise to go shopping the other day.

Maybe I will enjoy my trip this year. Who knows.
