Grayson

Racing out of her house to Noah's, my best friend, only a single thought plays in my mind.

I love Ella. And I want her back.

"Noah," I slurr gulping down my seventh glass of vodka, "I don't want to lose her. I've lost enough."

A tear trickle down my cheek, "I can't live without Ella, dude. She's my everything."

I've fucked things up, again.

He gasps mischievously, "Are you crying? I've never seen you cry. Oh my God!"

"I'm not crying. My eyes have been producing extra fluid lately," I slurr defending myself and wiping my tears away, "Don't make fun of me."

Sighing, I start again, "Why do I have to distance myself from her? Why do I have to avoid her?" I speak up, my voice cracking, "I never meant to stay away from her. It just happened on its own."

Pouring another glass, I drink it, "The mere thought of her moving on from me angers me. I don't want to see her with any other man. I can't."

I feel like every cell in my body is longing for her.

"Why don't you make things right, Lover boy?" Noah chirps from beside me but I carry on explaining myself, crying like a madman, "She told me she can't conceive again. I wonder how she took the news. I wasn't even with her when she found that."

"I just wanted to protect her. I never meant to hurt her," I say and then mumble the next part to myself, "But I guess I did."

I want to make things right. I have to make things right. I don't know if she'll ever forgive me and grant me another chance. But I'll try. She's worth trying. I don't care if it'll cost me my life. I have no one except her. And Noah. I'm coming for you Ella. I won't let you get away from me. You're stuck with me for life.

"Come on, Lover boy," Noah states jumping from the stool and patting me on the back, "Let's get you to bed."

I shake my head almost falling when I stand up from the stool, "Will you take me to Ella's, please?"

"What?" His eyes widen, "It's one in the morning."

"Please. Pretty, please?" I whine leaning on him for support.

He sighs and nods, "Okay. Let's go!"

———

"Wake up. We're here," Noah shakes me awake.

I open my eyes and nod, getting out of the car when Noah comes to my side to help me. I lean in to him for support once again and walk to the door with him, banging on the door, "Ella. Open up," I slurr, "It's me, Gray."

"Shut up, Gray. You don't want to wake the whole neighborhood," Noah warns me and clamps a hand on my mouth. I scowl turning to him but the door opens followed by the appearance of Ella rubbing her red puffy eyes.

I made her cry again, the thought alone causes a pang in my heart but I grin as soon as I look at her in shorts and croptop frowning at us. I scowl at Noah who is busy eyeing Ella, "She's my angel. Go find your own."

Noah chuckles and Ella as usual rolls her eyes while I slurr, "Won't you invite me in?"

"How much did he drink?" She ignores my presence and look at Noah.

"A little too much," He sheepishly smiles and she nods.

"I'm right here guys," I pout as she lets us in.

"You can stay in the guest room, Noah," Ella says so he makes his way there.

She picks me up and leads me to her room, gently placing me on the bed. I make myself comfortable while she goes back to fetch me some water from the kitchen.

"Here," she offers me the water. I gulp it down instantly after thanking her.

She nods and grabs a pillow about to head out of the room but I grab her arm to stop her, "Don't go, Angel."

She sighs and shakes her head, trying to wriggle free from my hold but my hold only tightens pulling her on the bed. She squeals falling beside me so I put an arm around her waist, pulling her closer, "I'm sorry for making you cry. I love you, Angel."

I wipe the tears that pool in her eyes and kiss her cheek, "I missed you."

She tries to put some space between us so I pull her even close.

"You're drunk," she murmurs and closes her eyes, soon her breathing goes even hinting me that she's asleep.

I admire her features from this close proximity and run my finger along her cheek, "You're beautiful," before following her lead and giving into sleep.

Tada!

Gray's a cute drunk, isn't he?
