Expectations.

It's such a hopeful word, providing one with all sorts of assurance and security. But the downside of it is that it does not always end in contentment. Expectations donot always get fulfilled.

And it might not crush you, someone not coming up to your expectations, except it's the person you infinitely love.

Yes. I love Grayson. As much as I want to hate him, I can't. I am too weak against his love. I love him.

I love him. And I didn't expect him to leave me like this. Like a one night stand. After last night, I didn't expect to wake up to a cold empty bed. Just like I had been for the past two years.

I thought things changed last night. I thought we will be fine today. I saw his eyes twinkling with love. I felt the warmth in his arms.

But maybe, it was just my drunken self. Maybe, I wanted to see all those things. Maybe, I just wanted to feel safe in his arms.

A pounding headache makes it presence known as I shake my head to get rid of the uncomfortable thoughts. Wrapping the white sheet around me, I get up to fetch myself a glass of water when my gaze lands on the bedside table.

My eyebrows furrow in confusion as I pick up a note which is tucked beneath a glass of water and a tablet of aspirin, consisting of Gray's cursive handwriting.

I had to rush to work. There is aspirin and water for your hangover.

Umm.. We need to talk ...

Despite knowing the fact he cares enough to bring me water and aspirin, I can't help but roll my eyes.

We need to talk.

We need to talk. Seriously?

Scoffs.

Drowning the tablet with the glass of water, I make my way to the bathroom for a long and warm shower. It is something that always helps me with hangovers.

I wrap a towel around me once I am done and go to my wardrobe to get some clothes. My phone starts ringing on my way there so I beeline for it before heading to my closet.

"Hello," I say into the phone, not even bothering to check the caller ID.

"Yes," a familiar joyful voice echoes from the other end, "She picked up."

Puzzled, I bring my phone away to see the name on the caller ID, a smile automatically appearing on my face.

Jase.

(Yes, we exchanged phone numbers at the party too, if you are wondering)

"Why wouldn't I pick up?" I question playfully. Putting the phone on speaker, I continue drying my hair after putting on black ripped jeans along with a beige turtle neck knitwear.

"I don't know. I thought I will give you some time to cool off before calling you. You seem pretty... furious when you left the party." Although he is careful with his words, I can't help but flinch as he mentions the day of the party.

He sighs as I don't respond for a while.

"I didn't mean to..." he trails of, snapping me back to the present.

"No," I speak up," It's okay."

"Are you, though?" he asks, a serious edge to his tone.

I put my phone off speaker once I am done towel drying my hair.

"I am what?" I try to play dumb.

He heaves another sigh before asking, "Are you okay?"

I hesitate for a second before answering.

"I... I am okay?" I try to assure him but it comes out more like a question.

"You sound like you could use a cup of coffee," he suggests, playfulness back to his tone, "along with my company."

A smile creeps on my face even though I know he can't see it. "That I can manage," I agree, forgetting all my previous worries.

Jase will do that to you. Make you forget all your worries in just a mere second.

"Cool," he chirps, "Text me your location and I will be picking you up in no time."

"Okay, see you soon," I say before hanging up.

After sending him my address, I look at myself in the mirror, a creepy smile on my face. I think my outfit looks fine. I just need to comb my hair and apply a little bit of mascara and gloss and I will be ready.

Yeah.

Once I am ready, I put on my black flat pumps and grab my cross body bag. Pulling it over my shoulder, I put my phone in the bag and zip it up before going to the living room to wait for the idiot.

I think about it before deciding to open up to Jase about Gray. I think I owe him that much. Plus, I am sure he will understand me and hopefully give me some useful advice too.

Yeah.

Okay so, how was the chapter? I know it was short but I am trying here. And I know I said I will be updating sooner rather than later but my finals popped up, sorry?

Also, lemme know what you want for the next chapter. Do you want Gray's POV or would ya like another chapter of Ella's POV where she spends her time with Jase.

Please don't forget to VOTE AND COMMENT.

Share as much as you can, it means a lot. Thanks. B'bye.
