Chapter 10 Dizzy Sparrow

Addie was tired from the night before she couldn't actually manage to sit still, so she painted and sketched instead. But even that hadn't managed to distract her, her chest and mind were heavy, and she honestly wasn't ready to face the rest of the group at school today. So she hitched a ride with her mom on the way to work and got to school early. The school was basically empty; she walked slowly to the art building, and made her way to her level 4 art class. She sat down in the back and set up her easel, they working on sketch self portraits, she pulled out her work, and set it on the easel.

The sketch version of herself, stared back at her with such sadness and such much pity. She snatched her pencils out of her bag, and began to draw. She was so deep in, she hadn't heard Mr. Singer come in and stand behind her.

" there you little smug bitch, look at me now" she whispered to herself,

"The eyes sometimes show to much don't they, they lay everything out in the open." Mr. Singer pointed to where the portrait eyes use to be visible, but now flew to sparrows. "it's interesting, I've covered many eyes myself, left them blank, crossed them out entirely, but I've never blind folded the portrait."

" Sorry, Mr. Singer I'll start a new one, one without the birds." Addie began to get up searching for new paper.

" No, continue and watch the joints of the birds wing they look broken, sometimes what you replace the eyes with is more of the truth than you understand. I just never thought of birds, sparrows."

Addie had gotten through art and government without any interruption or problem. She sat down sketched waited for the bell to bring and then moved on, it was the second half of the day she was dreading Biology was right before lunch , Eric and Steven where both in the that class, and traditionally sat beside her. She considered skipping and going to the nurse, but the idea of chickening out made her sick and plus Steven didn't always show up for class; and it wouldn't be like Eric to drill her during class.
