Today was the day you were finally going to tell Dave you liked him! You weren't sure how though. You know he likes chocolate so you bought him a heart shaped box of Swiss chocolates to give him when you tell him.
You look at yourself in the mirror , gathering what little confidence you have before spraying some perfume and walking out the door.
You knew where he would be around now, at the food truck with the rest of your friends , rod, Kevin , Denise , and Rico.
You were so worried you were going to embarrass yourself or possibly even ruin your friendship with Dave but you couldn't hold it in any longer you had to tell him how you feel. Denise thinks is all so romantic , bless her heart. She's been your go-to person to talk to about Dave and your feelings for him. She constantly reassured you that he probably had a crush on you too but of course you didn't believe her.
In any case , you had to get this off your chest, it was time.
"Hey (y/n)!" Rod called seeing you across the parking lot. You waved as you walked over.
"I was wondering when you were gunna show up" Denise said sweetly. You looked at Dave who was already looking at you with a smile.
"Hey Dave...I kinda have something to tell you" you say , ready to get it over with.
Just do it. Like a bandaid.
"What's up (y/n)?" He asked turning so his body was facing you now.
You pulled the box of chocolates out from behind your back.
"I was wondering if maybe you'd like to go out with me some time ?" You asked with more confidence than you knew you had. That was quickly shattered by the sound of laughter from his friends. Your heart sank as you watched them all have their laughing fit almost in tears. Your hand fell to your side.
"What's so funny?" You ask offended. Dave looks at you smirking and he pulls a heart shaped box of chocolates out from under the table with your name on it.
