Luncheon (aaron conners x reader)

You sigh as you take your place at one of the many round tables in the room. Your eyes scan the scene , taking in the people and atmosphere. You were here as an assistant , your boss was here for publicity reasons and he wanted you to come "experience how to network" whatever the hell that meant. The seat on your left was empty, you couldn't help but wonder what nightmare was going to sit next to you. You smooth your dress down and kindly smile at a waiter who offers you champagne.
"You bet" you say holding your glass out.
You feel someone take the seat next to you and you turn to see who you'd have to deal with for the afternoon.
"Oh thank god" you say pleasantly surprised to see a rather attractive man sat next to you. He smiles awkwardly and you apologize.
"Oh sorry I didn't ... realize I said that out loud" you say taking a sip of your drink.
He chuckles as he settles himself.
"Usually it's some guy who'a 4 years older than dirt" you speak again with a small laugh.
He laughs a bit louder this time and nods "yeah these things can be a bore" he says adjusting his tie.
"I'm Aaron conners" he introduces holding his arm out.
"Oh I'm (y/n) nice to meet you!" You reply shaking his hand, it was strong and welcoming.
"Sorry If I seem frazzled I'm a little nervous" he says with a sigh.
You smile "well here" you say sliding your glass over. Aaron looks at you for a moment.
"Go ahead" you insist , reluctantly he takes the glass and has a drink.
"My herpes is in remission" you chime. Aaron chokes on the drink. You can't help but laugh
"I'm just joking" you say shaking your head.
"I just have the clap" you add. This time he laughs , he knows you're joking now.
"Thanks, you're funny" he says with a smile.
"So how come you're so nervous?" You ask.
"Oh I'm giving a speech today , I'm just not good at public speaking" he admits with a shrug.
"Just picture everyone naked.......actually don't, you might puke" you say.
"I'm sure you'll do great! If you get nervous while your up there just look at me and pretend like I'm the only one here and if you really start fucking it up I'll make a scene and no one will care about your speech anymore" you chuckle. Aaron laughs too and nods his head.

"Good luck!" You say as it was time for him to give his speech. He smiled though you could tell he was nervous.
But , as you expected he did great and he took your advice he focused on you when he was feeling nervous, you would smile and give him a thumbs up.
"You did great!" You chime as he takes his seat next to you again. He smiles as he scoots in "thanks you really helped a lot (y/n) " he says.
"Now you can relax and try not to fall asleep while the rest of these people talk" you say making him laugh.
"Yeah no kidding" he says looking at you, he smiles "you wanna go get some dinner or something after this?"
