After a few moments of calming my older brothers down and stuff, we sit down in the living room. Immediately my family sits on the huge couch and the sons of Naomi sit across the room from us, like each side of the family has their own special sickness. Where do I sit? Well since my 9 brothers are all hogging the couch and my new 7 brothers are hogging the other sofas, I get the floor.
Why not the cushion in the middle? Dad and my new stepmom is sitting there, as if on trial. I quickly steal a pillow from behind Fletcher, despite his protests and sit on it. I lean against the fireplace so I have the whole view if the room. An awkward silence takes of the room. My brothers glaring at dad, my new stepbrothers glaring at Naomi, the parents giving apologetic looks to their sons and me sitting there and puffing out my cheeks. After, I kid you not, ten minutes I decided to say something.
"Sooooooo, wedding?"
All eyes are on me now, making me turn red in the cheeks from all the attention and scratch the back of my neck in embarrassment. Dad sends an strained smile towards me, probably to thank me for getting it off him. I fiddle with the hem of my jumper, wanting to jump out the window.
"Yeah, soo, the wedding is due at the end of the year because we want to get to know each other's families as much as we can before marrying."
"Wait, wait, wait, why couldn't you have done this before you proposed?"
Dee asked, looking confused which we probably are. This is really confusing.
"Because we knew you would act this way so we thought we could kind of force you to meet like this."
Naomi stated, looking at all our reactions head on. Oh boy.
"Force us? What, we don't get any say on the matter?"
Will, I think it was questioned, looking really frustrated at that moment. He has dark brown hair and really dark blue eyes too. Sort of lean and broad-shouldered with a tan that I am jealous of. The rest of the boys are looking angry too. Team Dad and Naomi are not looking good.
"We just thought it would be best if it was done this way. Apparently we were wrong to think that."
Naomi states again, raising an elegant eyebrow at us especially her own sons. Nearly all of us avoided her gaze, and those of us who kept it eventually backed down. Magic. Silence overlaps the room.
"Now, that we got that all settled, me and Gavin is going to discuss some things. You boys get to know each other now. I don't want to hear anyone going into their rooms or anything, kapeesh?"
She ordered, pointing a finger at us in a threatening manner. Her and dad walk out, closing the glass door behind them. Then dad quickly turns around with a key in his hand and locks it, causing majority of the room to rush at it to stop him. Dad grins cheekily at us and goes to follow Naomi up the stairs to his room.
