I walked into the classroom and took my seat, anxious for Koro-sensei's arrival. The previous day, Karma and I had dusted the entire floor with the anti-sensei powder I made by crushing the BBs into dust. I unconsciously started biting on my nails.

The door swung open, and Koro-sensei waltzed into class. Well, that was what happened until he started melting into the floor. He gave a yelp and swung himself onto the ceiling. I smirked at the sight, proud of my work. I pushed back my chair and strutted to the front of the class.

"How did my like our trap, Koro-sensei?" I asked, a devious expression on my face.

"Nyuhuhuhuh. Don't worry, all I have to do is wear shoes, like you guys, " he smirked.

The octopus-like creature zoomed off, leaving us in the dust, before returning with a bunch of shoes on his tentacles. His smirk unfaltering, his face turned yellow with green stripes.

"You're going to have to try harder than that,"

At this moment, Karma slammed open the door as a distraction, and I jumped him by swinging my knife at him. Unaware of what was going on, I sliced off one of his tentacles cleanly. We both started attacking him, but once Koro-sensei got his guard back on, he zoomed around us, grooming us from head to toe. I now had a fancy manicure and my hair was braided.

"I see that you two have joined forces, " Koro-sensei said, huffing and puffing.

"You should keep your guard up. You never know what might happen to you, " Karma said with a shady grin.

I grinned. I dragged my thumb across my throat, symbolizing that we were going to be the ones to slaughter him.

"Ichika! How could you not include me in this assassination plan!" Rio fake sobbed.

I rolled my eyes at the blonde girl's antics. I looked up at the smirking redhead.

"Good job," he said, but this time, with a genuine smile.

I raised my eyebrow at the sight. Karma? Genuinely smiling? That was definitely the first time I had ever seen that. They really were warming up to one another.

"Alright, now get back to your seats, lovebirds. We need to study for the upcoming exams, " he said, pushing us back to our seats with his yellow tentacles.

Koro-sensei made us a deal. If we couldn't score the top 50 for this exam, then he would be leaving. Today, Karma and I were studying at my house after school.

"Dammit, I've told you literally a thousand times! Don't touch my hair!" I said, swatting off Karma's hand that was resting on my hair.

"Too bad, " he said, sticking his tongue out at me.

He put his hand back on top of my head, while I kept flailing my arms and whining about him. Eventually, I huffed and crossed my arms, allowing him to put his hand on my head.

"One day I'll get my revenge!" I cursed, speaking to no one in particular.

"Curse you, Karma!" I shouted, waving my fist at him.

He chuckled at my childishness, ruffling my hair one more time.

"Dammit! Now I need to retie my hair! Again! What's wrong with you?" I exclaimed, slapping his arm.

"Oh, stop being dramatic. Let's just go already, " he said, dragging me to God knows where.

"You don't even know where we're going, " I deadpanned.

"True. Guide the way!" he said, pushing me.

"Why are you so enthusiastic all of a sudden?" I asked.

"If your mom is home, I get to see all your childhood photos and use them as blackmail, " he beamed.

I sighed, having no choice but to lead the redheaded devil to my house.

"Ichika! You didn't tell me you had a boyfriend!" my mother squealed.

"Mom, he's not my-" I said, only to be cut off.

"Yes, we are a thing, " he smirked. I hit his arm and chuckled nervously.

"No, we aren't, " I said, rolling my eyes.

"Sure thing, " my mother said, winking at me.

"He's hot!" my mother mouthed at me. I glared at her and pushed Karma in and to my room.

"Hey! I was going to ask her about your childhood photos!" he argued.

"Now you aren't. We have to study, " I declared.

"You're no fun, " he said, taking out his textbooks.

Our friendly banter didn't cease. We kept interrupting one another and bothering each other. Especially Karma, when he kept poking my shoulder when I was trying to memorize several equations.

Even when we were friends, we were rivals in academics.

I glared a question 11. Who would put these questions in here? They were way beyond our curriculum. I answered the questions with ease, due to the constant study sessions that Karma and I conducted, but I was more worried for my fellow classmates. All of them seemed stuck, darling at their exam papers. Deep down, we didn't want Koro-sensei to go.

I swiftly answered the questions, defeating the monster questions one by one. When I had finally finished, I proof checked one of my papers, knowing that Karma and I were still competing.

"Pens down, " the examiner declared. I heard a series of sighs from my classmates.

I looked down at my paper, 99/100. Just one more mark and I would have been golden. I sneaked a peek at Karma's exam paper.

"I got one mark higher than you in math, " I pointed out.

"Yes, but my overall still got higher than you, " he smirked.

"Isn't math your pride and joy?" I asked.

"Isn't science your pride and joy?" Karma mocked, waving his exam paper in my face.

"Touché, " I said, laying back in my chair.

"Koro-sensei, there's nothing we could do about the fact that they changed the curriculum!" Nagisa defended.

I sat up straight. There was no way Koro-sensei would leave our class just because they added new topics. Karma grabbed my paper and walked to the front. I smiled. That was the Karma I knew.
