"Ichika, when you find your group, you can tell me or Isogai, " Kataoka informed me.
I forced a smile, waving at her. Thanking her, I walked into the girl's toilet, changing into my PE attire, before walking out to the field, sitting down with my classmates. At this moment, Karasuma-sensei came out.
"As all of you may already know, we're going to Kyoto next week for three days and two nights. Though I don't wish to spoil everyone's mood, this is a mission, " Karasuma-sensei said.
I rolled my eyes. Of course, it was. We never really got a break after Koro-sensei taught us, but I liked it that way.
"So we need to assassinate him even while we're there?" Okano asked.
"That is correct, " Karasuma-sensei replied, not even breaking a sweat.
"Kyoto is much bigger and complicated than the school. Each group will plan their own routes and he will accompany the groups at all times. It will be a good chance to snipe your target there. The government has planted some professional snipers there. Upon success, based on your contribution, they'll pay each of you from the ten-billion-yen reward. Hence, please plan a route that helps in the assassination." Karasuma-sensei briefed us.
I didn't want to go on this school trip, especially when we should be studying for our finals. After the extreme failure that our class had experienced, I didn't want my classmates to go through the same thing again. However, that was not my choice.
"Okay!" we all replied, knowing that we had no choice. All we could hope for is that we would still enjoy this trip.
The bell rang, signaling lunch break. Everyone else decided to get into groups during that period, whilst I sat at the back, studying.
"Karma-Kun, would you like to join our group?" Nagisa immediately asked.
There went my chance. Karma agreed. I sighed, eavesdropping on the conversations. I was still salty that Karma had beat me at my best subject, science. However, I knew that I was practically no match for Okuda, who could mix up potions on the go.
"If I cause trouble, I'll make sure that I silence the witnesses so that the news will not spread," Karma said. I smiled at the devilish sadist while digging my head deeper into my textbook.
I looked up for a second, and I could practically see the devil horns and tail that had sprouted up, along with his dark aura and fangs. It truly was frightening to see the boy who made fun of me in this state.
But perhaps I liked it that way. Besides, that's what made him Karma Akabane.
"We need another girl, don't we?" Karma said, eyeing my figure in the back.
I could practically feel his eyes on me, but I continued to read my textbook. Sugino started acting extremely confident, saying that he had already asked Yukiko to join. Yukiko, the class idol. Yukiko, the class beauty. Yukiko, that class favorite. I was crushed.
"Well, now that our group is decided, we should plan our route!" Nagisa suggested.
My shoulders slumped and my back hunched. I buried my face into the textbook once again. I was slightly upset that Karma didn't even volunteer me, but that was probably because of the girls in his group. Yukiko, the class beauty. Everyone loved her. Okuda, the best in chemistry. He probably liked her for her capabilities. Even I could never be as good as her in science.
Meanwhile, Bitch-sensei was bragging about how she had been on trips so often that it was so boring, giving the class a chance to throw insults at her. She got so fed up that she pointed a gun at them, reprimanding them for leaving her out of their plans.
Seeing that Nagisa's group had already figured that they didn't need anyone else, I went up to Rio.
"Can I join your group?" I asked Rio.
"Why? What about Karma?" she grinned.
I rolled my eyes, thinking back to what just happened. I explained to Rio what happened, and she willingly let me into her group, consisting of Maehara, Isogai, Kataoka, Okano, and Kimura. We all sat down at the table.
"Where should we go?" I asked.
"What if we go to Higashiyama?" Okano asked.
I thought about it for a moment.
"But if we consider the mission..." I trailed off.
At this moment, Koro-sensei barged in with thick, red books, that looked like handbooks. I groaned, realizing that we would have to carry those around everywhere now. Koro-sensei zoomed around the class, dropping them into our grasps. The second mine was in my hands, I nearly dropped it at the unexpected heaviness.
"This is a dictionary!" Maehara complained.
After Koro-sensei explained his handbooks. I dropped into the table, sighing. Great. This was going to turn out just great. My group continued to discuss our plans.
"Why don't we go to Gion's district, it turns away first-time customers and is really deserted, " I suggested, pointing at the map.
Isogai put his hand on mine and moved it higher up on the map. Suggesting that we should go to another place. While everyone agreed, I was blushing due to the fact that he put his hand on mine. The only boy who I had ever allowed to touch me (as a friend) was Karma, and even then it was just a playful rivalry.
While I was blushing like crazy, I didn't notice Karma glaring at Isogai for touching my hand.

I looked up at the station board. Finally, the time had come. After panning for what seemed like forever, we were finally going on the class trip. I glared at the A to D class people, for they were taking first-class cabins. We were taking regular cabins, as usual. I was fine with it, until the discipline teacher boarded the cabin, insulting my friends. This set off even more bullying from the other student. I rolled my eyes, boarding the train, not bothering to listen to my classmates criticizing Bitch-sensei.
I sat back and relaxed, only for my peace to be disturbed by a certain sadistic redhead who sat down next to me. I glared at his presence.
"What do you want now?" I asked.
"Come on. I can tell you're bored, " he smirked.
"No, I'm tired and I want to rest." I glared.
"We haven't even gone anywhere and you're tired, " he raised an eyebrow.
"Yep-" I replied, only to be cut off by Koro-sensei's face next to my window.
I jumped back in shock, muttering swear words. Well, there went my peace.
