Ahhh it's a long one. It was 5am and I had yet to sleep so don't expect a lot :/ sorry
—————"Jungkook, are you kidding me?" Getting caught in the heat of the moment, Mi's tongue slipped. Normally, she would speak like this to him as he made jokes to distract her. But that was when she was at home, as Mi-sun.
"Did- did you just call me Jungkook?" He stood still in front of her, eyeing her hands on the keyboard. She quickly pulled one away, keeping one hidden to hold the mouse to dodge attacks as the game had already begun.
"No... no I didn't sir. I was talking to someone else." With her hand having to move so fast with the mouse to avoid being hit, her words seemed to take the same pace and move just as quickly.
"Who?" He had got her cornered now.
"It was, Erm," her eyes briefly looked from the screen to her surroundings, before darting back to the match at hand.
"Go on," Jungkook pestered, "who here are you calling Jungkook, that isn't your boss." You could hear the mischievous grin in his voice.
"Juice." What the hell did she just say. "My juice is called Jungkook..." her eyes were glued to the screen in front of her. It was one of the fastest players she had ever fought, and right now she was using only one hand to move around. "What is it that you wanted, sir?"
Mi changed to subject quickly, hiding the mouse behind a stack of papers. He placed one hand on her desk, and the other presented her with two folders. They landed with a small crash next to her keyboard.
"I need you to sign these, now." He opened the first page and help out a pen. "It's the contract your on. It's for a year of work and then it will be evaluated." At this point she wasn't even listening. She had too much to think about.
Too much to deal with. Right, she knew how this guy played. He was defensive, so why was he currently in a state of constant attack. All he did was jump forward at her non stop. Breath. His attacks were also nothing like his usual ones, they were completely new and almost structured. There was a pattern...
"New girl? Hey, Sun- something?"
Yes, there was a patten. He would punch and then kick, and then dive and duck and then punch again. So if she changed the way she avoided the attacks, if she moved backward instead of sideways or forward instead of down, he would be thrown off and give her time to move away.
"New giRL ARE YOU LISTENING?" Jungkooks hand slams down on the desk. With out saying anything, Mi takes her left hand and grabs a pen. She scruffily signs her name on each paper, her hands still moving the mouse to dodge with out having to look. She could hear his footsteps through the headset, she knew what he was going to do before he did it.
"There you go, sir. Is that all?" She plastered the sickliest smile she could for him to see.
His eyebrows furrowed towards her. "Whatever, juice girl." He said as he walked back to his chair.
Finally, she was free. Her left hand darted back to the keyboard and she could finally move faster and easier. It was surprising she lasted so long against him, right now the enemy was currently playing at Jungkook standards. It was weird.
Every few seconds, he seemed to memories how Mi avoided his attack and changed them to catch her out. It was relentless, and finally Mi was caught out and hit. 50 health point were knocked off her. She heard the cheers from across the room as people crowded his screen. In the corner of her eyes, she saw Jungkook make his way over, his head hanging low for his friend who was currently loosing the match.
Oh god. She couldn't let someone be disappointed in her, no only Mi could be disappointed in herself. She had to prove she could do this, for Jungkook.
Wait what.
No.
She had she prove she could to this to boys who made fun of here, yes that was it, revenge. Not Jungkook... Her character stood back up, and she breathed in deeply. This guy was playing as good as Jungkook did, so let's pretend it is Jungkook. Her eyes sharpened and her fingers locked into position, it was go time.
She danced around him, never in the same way twice. At points she found herself closing her eyes and following the sound of his footsteps. Mi has to make her movement erratic so he couldn't learn and change his attack style. Finally, with her eyes closed, she heard two clicks of leather boots close to her. That was her opening.
Eyes open, fingers ready to strike. With one clean sweep, he was hit straight in the head. 100 HP gone, he was dead.
But, he wasn't... he stood there I front of her, with 70 HP left. What? Had she done something wrong? Moved too slow or missed the target? Normally that move would finish a player with no armour completely, but he was clearly still very alive before her.
She tried again, jumping and twisting and bam, a stab to the heart. It killed him quickly and ended the match... but it didn't. Only 30 HP was taken off him.
"What's going on?" She heard Jungkook mutter across the room. Yes, she agreed with him for once, what on earth was going on.
On screen, he continued to attack, each one getting faster. Too fast. Too fast to even fully see, it was a blur on screen... not only that but it was impossible.
"Is it a glitch? What's going on?" The boys seemed to all be questioning.
"I've been practicing." Was all the guy at the keyboard said, his hands clearly not moving as fast as the character on screen was.
Mi continued to try her hardest, to dive out of the way. But it got to a point we're he was just too fast. He was running laps around her that she practically couldn't see. So, Mi did the one thing she could when someone was quicker than her (which she didn't come across lately... until now).
She closed her eyes, drew her sword and waited. The footsteps were a constant rhythm around her, an then they stopped briefly. For a second there was none, and this must have been when he was leaping towards her.
It was as if time slowed down. She crouched and held her sword to the sky and waited. Waited. Waited.
An unpleasant squelch was all she heard. Her sword pierced right through his chest as he leaped forward and unfortunately for him, onto the blade. That would take 100 HP off a player, no questions asked. But it only took 40 Health... what?!? Still, added to her other attacks it was enough, and the bar dropped to 0.
Mi jumped from her seat a cheered, before realising where she was and quickly sat back down. However, no one seemed to notice. Everyone stood, staring in awe at the boy sat at his desk. With out word, Jungkook took his screen and started typing harshly before showing the screen to the crowd.
Everyone gasped.
"Get out. Get out of the building." Jungkook demanded, his face turning dark and icy. The crowd scattered instantly as the boy got up and left with out a word.
"Pssss, Dae!" Mi signaled, causing the small boy to run over, his hair bobbing up and down in the movement. "What just happened?"
"He was cheating! He hacked his character to use every one of Jungkooks moves and increased the speed of his character to an impossible level, yet he still lost!" Oh... so he had been hacking against her. No wonder he seemed so good... "Gosh, that girl managed to beat such powerful hacks. I wonder if boss will ever let us meet her one day."
Mi glanced over to the coconut haired boy with his head in his hands across from him. He looked less scary, just sad and disappoint and well... lonely. "Yeah, maybe one day but,"
She sighed.
"Maybe he should meet her first..."
