Chapter 33: The Sweetest Welcome

Song looked around the dark hallway she was in. The hallway was made with stones just like the office room and it was designed in the same old fashion. The hallway looks pretty normal, but the countless of mirrors hanging on the wall made it creepier.
Hinawakan ni song ang isa sa mga frame ng salamin. Her emerald eyes stares at the same replica of hues in the mirror. She noticed her shadow behind her. To her surprised, it was slowly coming towards her. She blinked her eyes thinking she was just imagining things. Her shadow remained on where its supposed to be, like it didn't moved at all.
"Ghad, kailan pa naging horror story to?" She asked herself, still staring at her shadow like an idiot.
'Ping.' Song immediately tensed up when she heard a piano piece that echoed around the silent hallway. Bigla syang napatalon sa gulat nang biglang bumukas ang isa sa mga pinto malapit sakanya.
"Song?" Isang pamilyar na boses ang sumalubong sakanya.
"Tangina ka!" Inis na sigaw ni song habang hawak hawak ang kanyang dibdib sa sobrang pagkagulat. The person came out of the door habang hawak hawak ang isang stick na umiilaw. Lumapit si song sakanya to confirm her guess of who is this person.
"Calton?" She asked in relief. Thank god at least meron na syang kasama. Masaya naman sya at walang masamang nangyare kay calton, she's not sure with the others, but hopefully they are fine as well. Before song can give calton a hug, a pair of strong arms hugged her tightly. Nahulog ang umiilaw na stick na hawak ni calton. Song's cheeks turned red in embarrassment because of the sudden bone crushing hug she recieved from him.
"Salamat naman at okay ka lang." Calton said in relief. Song let him hugged her for a minute until she told him he can let go, but the king didn't show any signs of backing away from her anytime soon. Napahilamos na lang sa mukha ni song dahil dito.
"I really appreciate your hug, but nahihirapan nako huminga calton. Unless you really want me to die in your hands, then go ahead." Nakahinga ng maluwag si song ng bumitaw na si calton sakanya finally. She grabbed a water bottle at her backpack at itinunga ito while calton just watched her drink from the battle that send shivers down to her spine. Well that was definitely creepy, but song misunderstood the situation and offers him her bottle.
"Uhm, nauuhaw ka ba?" She asked with a tilt of her head in confusion. Biglang namula ang buong mukha ni calton at umiwas ng tingin sakanya. She just shrugged her shoulders at ibinalik ang water bottle sa backpack nya.
"Any ideas kung nasaan na ang iba?" She asked him bago kinuha ang umiilaw na stick na nasa sahig parin at ibinigay ito kay calton. It was a normal stick, but calton used his light magic to light it up. Calton grabbed the stick and begun to walk down the hallway, song following right after him.
"So far there's none. It looks like nagkahiwalay tayong lahat individually, like the trap was really made to separate all of us. Napunta ako sa isang abandonadong living room at nagikot ikot sa mga ibang rooms which are only bedrooms until I stumble upon this hallway." Calton explained as they entered one of the doors in the hallway and was greeted by another bedroom. Halos lahat ng room sa hallway puro mga bedroom lang din katulad sa mga kwarto na nasa living room. Frustrated, they exited the room and continues to walk down the dark hall.
