Chapter 19: The Unexpected Visitor

"Hmmm?" A old woman who was kneeling on the ground turned her head at the entrance of the temple when she heard the sound of footsteps.
The wind gently touches her cheeks, her blind eyes looking straight ahead, a sign of wrinkles decorated her cheeks, and her white hair loosely tied in a bun. "Yes..." he trailed off, unsure what to say next.
"Ah...sorry, allow me to...introduced myself, young man...call me...arla." the woman let out a rough cough at the end of her sentence. After a minute of awkward silence between the two, the blind woman smiles at him and said...
"I've been...waiting for you...king calton." Calton visibly tensed up when the woman mentioned his name. Hindi nya inaasahan na alam ng matanda ang kanyang pangalan and worst, she knows he was a king. Calton frowned at this, shadows covering his eyes. His ruby eyes flashed for a second. Kung hindi lang bulag ang matanda, she is surely kneeling on the ground in fear right now.
"Who are you working with?" He asked with a venom on his voice. Despite his tone towards her, the woman unexpectedly still remained smiling. Much to calton's annoyance.
"I'm...not a foe to begin with...I am friends with...King Ry." the woman shows him a medallion with a special craving on it, symbolizing the second king. Calton accepted her as not a spy, but he won't let his guard down around her just in case.
"Are you the priestess of this temple? Pwede mo ba ituro kung nasaan ang rumored sword?" Calton asked her as he begun to follows the woman nang magsimulang maglakad ito papasok ng temple. The woman nodded at his first question.
"I know..where it is...pero may kailangan...lang muna ako sabihin..." The woman entered a room to her left, calton followed shortly. Talagang kabisado na ng matanda ang buong temple despite being disabled person.
The woman sat on the zabuton, a traditional japanese cushion and motioned for the king to take a seat. Nagdadalawang isip si calton kung uupo ba sya or hindi because hindi sya sanay na umupo sa sahig, well not literary but you get the point.
"I want...to warn you...the woman you are with...has more story to tell." The woman said after calton finally took a seat opposite to her. Calton was confused at first until it clicked inside his head.
