"It wasn't destined to happen, it was never meant to be."
-Arla, The Priestess
Chapter 34: The Strange Encounter
Lermlock, Shamina Temple
Two young men stopped right in front of the old temple.
"I-I hope na okay.....lang sila....may the buddha protect...them." Napabuntog hininga na lang si Arla habang ipinagpatuloy nya ang pagwawalis ng mga damo na nakakalat sa harap ng temple. She didn't see the two young men standing in front of her because of her condition, but she heard their footsteps very well. The aura around these men screamed absolutely danger, raising multiple red flags in her head. The old priestess tensed up at the presence of the two male.
'No good. These people are dangerous, lalo na't isa sakanila may isang napaka laki at itim na aura.' Arla said to herself in worry.
"Ah? What...can I help...you with?" She asked the two strangers with a smile, hoping to hide her nervousness around the men. The men didn't answer her for a minute as they are looking around the old temple, as of they are trying to find something before focusing their attention at the old priestess.
"Where's the sword at?" One of them asked in a cold voice.
Biglang naalerto si arla dito. She can't tell them the location of the sword dahil nandoon pumunta sila calton ngayon, but it's almost one hour had passed since nung umalis sila sa temple, it only takes about 10 minutes walking distance from the temple to the location of the sword, but still what if nandun parin sila ngayon? But that's impossible kaya okay lang naman siguro na sabihin sakanila kung nasaan ang sword no? Pero pano kung nakita nila na wala na ang sword at bumalik dito para tanungin kung sino ang mga kumuha ng sword? She can't just them about the kings. She can lie to them, but her gut told her that it won't work. They will probably know right away she was lying.
Guess this is the time she had to leave the temple huh? Just like what is destined for her....
Arla tried to think some plan to outsmart these two. She can't leave immediately pag pumunta sila sa location ng sword dahil sobrang lapit lang nito. She don't have enough time to escape lalo na sa kondisyon nya. Unless she can invite them to have a some tea first with poison that would buy enough time for her to get away as far as possible.
"Ah...why don't you come inside...and have...a tea...fir----" Before the priestess can finish her sentence, she suddenly felt someone is choking her. Her lungs screaming for the lack of air.
"Listen here you shit, I don't have time to beat around the bush. Just answer my question and your pathetic life will go longer." The man holding her neck said in a boredom as he impatiently wait for the old priestess to speak. Sinubukan ni arla buksan ang kanyang bibig, but not a single sound was heard from her. The other man sighed at his companion.
"Sorry to interrupt you prince damien, but based on human's common knowledge, we can't speak while being chocked to death. Wala tayong makukuhang sagot kung patuloy mo na sinasakal parin sya, unless you know, you really wanted to kill her then I'm okay with it, but we need the answer still." Oliver tried to knock some sense to the prince.
As much as the prince hates the ex general's words, he is indeed correct. Walang sabing binitawan ni damien ang pagkakahawak nya sa leeg ni arla. The poor old priestess let out a rough cough as oxygen finally entered her lungs.
"You have 30 seconds." The Prince said with a clear threat behind his voice.
"A-at the...back." The moment arla finished her sentence, nagsimula na maglakad si prince damien papunta sa likod ng temple. The prince's next words made arla frozen to the core.
