Dr. Mendoza takes us to Filia's room. I take a deep breath and my eyes widen when I step inside. Filia is just sitting there eating jello with the remote in her hand.
"What the hell?" Mason asks. Filia stops mid slurp and looks up at us.
"Oh. Hey g-" She chokes on the jello as she swallows it. A weird gurgling noise comes out of her mouth as she does. I frown while Mason's face scrunches up in disgust. She wipes her face and sniffs. "Hey guys."
"Filia what the hell?" Mason repeats. She rolls her eyes.
"Xander." She puts the jello cup down and she makes grabby hands at me. "Come."
I quickly walk into her embrace as she engulfs me in a huge hug. I climb onto her and she wraps her legs around my torso. I lay my head on her chest as I see Mason sit in the chair beside the bed.
"How're you feeling?" He asks. She runs her fingers through my hair as an appreciative purr escapes my lips. I hear snickers but I quickly ignore it.
"I'm fine." She says. "She's asleep now but not when I was hanging out with you Xander."
"So she'll remember it?" I ask. She tilts her.
"Well... No. She'll think it was a dream." I frown.
"Why do you keep coming out if you don't want her memories to return?" I ask. Her breath hitches and I look at her.
"She'll figure everything out eventually." Filia shrugs as Mason gives her a sad smile. "Besides if I stay in too long I get bored."
"Oh haha." I say sarcastically. "Boredom. The most deadly disease."
"See? He gets me!" I roll my eyes and wrap my arms around her tighter.
"When will all of her memories restore?" I whisper. She sighs and runs her hand up and down my arm.
"I don't know. She won't accept that they're real. But the longer we're together the better. Her memories catch up." I nod.
"What happens when she gets them back?" Mason asks. A few second of silence passes and it makes me squirm. "Filia?"
"She won't be able to handle it. They'll come back painfully." I look at her. "She'll try to kill herself probably. But when she gets her memories you need to be there. All of you do. That way she'll know she's safe."
"We'll be there baby. Of course we will." I say in an assuring tone. "We won't let anything happen."
"I'll be keeping you to that." She kisses my forehead. "I'm tired. Someone take me back to my dorm."
"I got it." I look to see Hailey leaning on the door frame. "You can walk Fi. You just can't walk alone."
"She's not going anywhere with you."
