Chapter 17

I have no idea what's happened. One minute Alexander was running towards Lucas, the next Alexander and I were rolling around in each other's blood. Oh wait now I remember.

I stupidly jumped in front of Lucas, causing Alexander to run into me with full force. Lucas runs over to me, checking my body for any injuries and as soon as I was good to go he growled at Xander. That ticked him off.

I let out a growl when he starts running towards Lucas. I hate boys. I stand up and shove him out of the way. He yelps as he rolls into a tree. Alexander stops and growls. I have a feeling he's telling me to move.

But you know the stubborn wolf I am, didn't. I stood my ground... Until I wasn't. He bites my neck hard enough to pick me up but not to enough hurt, before tossing me aside.

Once again, he charges towards my husband. I huff in annoyance and chase after him. Just before he grabs Lucas, I bite his tail. Blindly, he swipes his claws at me and my face whips to the side. A collective group of gasps erupt from around us. Everything falls silent...

I can feel Jess surfacing and my tounge darts out of my mouth, licking the blood dripping from my muzzle. Oh... Huh. He scratched me. I mean Yeah that's fine.

But it's not. I don't care if he's the Alpha or not. I'm the Luna and Jess believes that if I leave it, it'll be shown as an act of weakness. My eyes snap to Alexander as Jess fully pushes forward.

And I'm not weak.

I growl at him and his eyes widen. Did he not expect me to do something about it? Prove to the pack that the Luna doesn't take shit from anybody?

He carefully takes a step forward. 'Stand down mate.' He orders. Stand down? How dare he?! 'I won't tell you again. Stand. Down.'

'Xander Xander Xander... You don't have to tell me shit. But... You disrespect me by disrespecting my husband and you expect me to, in your words, stand down. You obviously don't know me that well.' I bare my canines at him and let out another growl.

'His life means nothing to me. You are MY mate and I'll be damned if I let a nobody take you away from me.' He begins to turn around but I let out a bark/growl and he freezes. 'Are you... Challenging me mate?'

'If that's what it takes to ensure the safety of my husband.' He quickly looks at me with black obsidian eyes. I see his wolf has taken control.

'Don't pick a fight you know you can't win.' He warns. I feel Jess' urge to submit but she doesn't. Mainly due to the fact that we want to prove a point.

'Let's rumble.' He growls and I give him a small grin just for dramatic effect. He swipes at me again.

Predictable. I step back just in time and watch him closely. We circle each other slowly, waiting for one of us to make a move. I can tell from his eyes that Alexander's taken full control.

He begins to run towards me. I want this over. Before he has a chance to do anything, I roll to the side. Taking his moment of confusion to my advantage, I bite his neck and slam him to the ground. He turns on his back and kicks his hind legs, trying to push me off. I claw at his face but he just in time he sinks his teeth into my arm. I yelp in pain before he throws me off of him.

I hear bones cracking and I look to see Alexander in his human form, glaring at me. He gives up? Pity. "Shift." He demands. I snarl at him in disagreement. "Shift!"

I crouch down with a low growl, my neck slightly starting to tilt to the side in submission. He walks up to me slowly.
