The atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement. The melodious voices of the singers were heard from every corner of the village. The drummers also made sure they did their possible best to make the people enjoy the rhythm from their drums. Different kinds of dance went along well with this music. The people were so happy and danced their heart out as a way of pleasing the gods on this very special festive occasion which happened once every year. It was a festival the people believed the gods answered all their prayers and their wishes granted."I'm so tired" that was Daniella to her husband. She was married to Martin for over eight years now and still hasn't been able to conceive. They travelled to the best doctors and religious men who people believed could help them but still yielded no positive result. Friends recommended great spiritualist and herbalist to them but it still didn't help them. Daniela's parent had told her to have faith in God since His time is the best.
"Mummy, I think God has forgotten us. It's been ten years now since we got married but I'm not being able to give birth." She said with a teary eye "we've tried every means but nothing seems to be right" Her mum always found it difficult convincing her to wait for the perfect time.
Daniella's mum, Georgina was married to one of the wealthiest men in the city. Godfred was one of the renowned and wealthiest business men in the country. He was respected by the people and also feared since he was a no nonsense man. He made sure all the people around him were disciplined as he was at all times. He didn't waste a second in firing his lazy and corrupted employees. Everything he said was always final. Georgina on the other hand was the calm type and looked for ways always to lessen her husband's anger. She would walk away as soon as the argument started because she knew what he was capable of doing when angry. The scar on her left arm was as a result of their fights. He had an argument with one of his workers and when she went there ostensibly to calm him down, she received a sharp whack on her shoulder with a pen he was holding, leaving a permanent. She tried different creams with the intent to fade the mark but it didn't result in anything possible. Since then, she tried not to interfere in his affairs but that wasn't possible for her. For the love was great!
"Don't worry dear; this would surely be our last time crying over a baby. God will and had answered our prayer." Martin comforted his wife with these words. They were very tired from their journey. They travelled to the village mainly to participate in that festival. A friend had told them about it and since they needed a child badly, they left all their work to attend the festival, possibly with the hope of getting to meet all kinds of powerful herbalists in the village. Before sleeping, they bathed and said a silent prayer with the hope of getting a positive results within the coming weeks.
The next morning saw smiles rained on both faces. Their faith in God has been renewed. There was a special feeling of happiness they both had which had never been experienced in their lives before. This happiness, they prayed would forever last. That morning before Daniella set off to work, she passed by her parent's house beaming with smiles to tell them about the good feeling she was experiencing after going for the festival.
"Mummy" she called out as she entered the house. The hall was decorated beautifully with latest designs with flowers carefully placed at vantage corners of the room. Family pictures and awards could be seen hanging all over the room. It was a family to be proud of.
"Yes darling" her mother responded with a tender smile. She was with a napkin and it showed obviously she was from the kitchen. They hugged and Daniella went ahead to describe the feeling she was having.
"I pray this turns out to be a positive thing." Her mum said
"Amen mummy, we will surely have our first child within this year." She said with a tone of certainty.
She had breakfast with her as she skipped it all in the name of being in a hurry to get whisper the good news to her mum. She left soon after having finished eating her food she worked in her dad's company. Her father owned a very big coffee company and other businesses which she managed as the CEO. Her father made sure she followed his steps believing it was the best for her.
