Falling Like the Stars
James Arthur

and I need you to know that we're fallin' so fast
we're fallin' like the stars, fallin' in love
and I'm not scared to say those words with you, I'm safe
we're fallin' like the stars, we're fallin' in love

I swear to God, every day
he won't take you away
'cause without you, babe, I lose my way

Once we get in the building, I take my time getting to the elevator. "Woah, what's up with you. Your not like jamming the up button.", I look up at him, which I guess my the look I gave him, he understood.

"Okay baby, what's up." he grabs my hands as we sit in the treehouse.

"I-uh well....", my eyes start to water and my throat becomes dry. "Take your time, it's okay."

I shake my head, "It's not okay Richie! It's not okay!", I let out, crying turning into sobbing. "Hey baby, come here." he said opening his arms, I crawled up to him resting my head on his chest. "Take your time. I don't need to know right now.", he quietly said, rubbing circles on my back to calm me down.

After a few minutes of silence, I had gotten the courage to tell him. "I'm moving.", I quietly say, not even sure if he heard me, but when his fingers stopped moving on my back and I heard his heart skip a beat, I knew he had. "W-What?", he choked out. I squeezed my eyes shut, letting the tears fall quicker.

"I'm moving.", I repeat, as I sit up not looking at his face. I couldn't bare seeing the look he held, or I would start to cry. "Where to?", I heard his voice waver and I knew he was about to cry.

I squeezed my eyes shut again, slowly making eye contact with him. "Canada." The face he made, made me want to curl up into a ball and die. I couldn't bare it, I hated to see him sad, especially if I was the reason.

"Why? Eddie why Canada?", his voice got loud, I know he was only upset. "I got into Western Ontario." I still didn't want to tell him about figure skating but I couldn't hide it from him forever.

Tears soon made their way out of his eyes, as he let out a sob, making me cry harder. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.", I said over and over again looking down at my lap.

"W-What does Canada h-have that New York doesn't?", his voice quiet, as he hiccup from crying. I shook my head. I couldn't, but I had to.

"Figure Skating.", I simply let out, as I look at his face for any signs of disgust, but there were none. Just confusion.

"I don't understand.", I breathlessly laugh, moving closer to him. I grabbed his hands, and intertwined them.

"Richie...", he looked up at me, his eyes bloodshot from crying. A tear fell down my cheek, "I'm a figure skater, and I might have a chance of going to the olympics if I go to this school."

"Your not pranking me right?", he said, I shook my head and giggled. "No, I'm not pranking you baby."

"How? When.. since when did you skate?", I rubbed my thumb on his hand. "Since I was 7."

"And you never told me?", he didn't sound angry or upset, just surprised more than anything. "I though you'd think I was disgusting for doing such a girly sport or something."

"You know I wouldn't have. I love you either way.", I nodded and looked up at him sadly. "I leave in 4 days."

"Eddie...", more tears escaped his eyes. "Why didn't you tell me this sooner?"

"I couldn't. I didn't want to say goodbye.", I let out a sob. He pulled me into him, squeezing me tightly.

"This isn't goodbye. okay?", I nod, "This is a see you soon.", I feel him smile on my head. "Yeah, a see you soon.", he quietly repeated.

"I was lying to everyone, and I knew I couldn't lie to you." I admitted. He rubbed his thumb on my cheekbone, "Have you not told anyone?"

"I told Gabriel.", I hear him scoff. "So you tell the doorman before you tell me?"

"It was actually drunk me who told him.", he laughs and squeezes me. "I'm still really sorry about that night."

I shake my head, "No, don't worry about it. I have you now don't I?"

"Yeah, you sure do.", he slowly traces my face, from my forehead, eyebrows, nose, eyes, cheekbones, chin, then to my lips. I smile as he traces them, then I lean up to catch his own lips in mine.

I could get used to this.

He rocked my back in forth in his arms, as we calmed down a little bit. "So... figure skating, huh?" I smile and giggle. "Yeah, dad took me to a competition when I was 7 and I instantly fell in love with it."

"Like how I fell in love with you?", Richie smirked, he thinks he's so clever. I looked up at him and scrunched my eyebrows. "How would we do this?"

He understood what I meant because he said, "It will. I know it will. When I'm done with college, I will move to wherever you are, my love." I nodded and squeezed him.

"I still have to take you on a proper date. So, how about tomorrow we get ready and I take you somewhere special?", Richie asked, kissing the top of my head.

"Yeah, I'd love that.", I snuggled into his side even more, if that was possible. "Where are you taking me?"

"That's a secret for me to know, and for you to find out.", I smiled leaning up to kiss him on the cheek.

"I love you", I whisper into his chest.

"I love you more."

I shake my head, "Doubt it."

That night, we fell asleep cuddled up together in the treehouse. The only sound that could be heard was the radio that sang,

And I'm not scared to say those words, with you I'm safe. We're falling like the stars. We're falling in love.
