Chapter 23 || Confession

We were walking in silence when Jimin asked, "Is something bothering you? You're very quiet."

"It's nothing. I guess I'm just a bit nervous about my surgery".

Jimin then reassured me, "You have nothing to worry about, Ji-Hyun. I'm sure that your surgery will be a success".

I was worried about my surgery; however, that wasn't what was actually bothering me. What was bothering me was what Yu-Jin told me yesterday, I can't get it out of my head.

We continued to walk to school.

"Me and the guys are having to have a sleepover at Jin's place to wish you luck on your surgery. Do you think you can make it", Jimin asked.

I then said, "Sure, and I'll make sure Jisoo also comes."

"Jungkook is also inviting Yu-na," Jimin informed me.

Maybe I should try and get Jisoo and Jimin together. They would make a nice couple.

Tonight was the sleepover, and this was my chance to get Jisoo and Jimin some alone time.

Jin then walked into the living room with a basket, "Okay, the first game that we will be playing is Charades. So, make teams of two."

I then hear Jimin's voice, "Hey Ji-Hyun, let's be partners."

"Sorry, Jimin, Taehyung is my partner. Right Tae?"

Taehyung then responds, "Um... yeah me and Ji-Hyun are partners."

"Oh... okay then."

I then suggest, "Why don't you team up with Jisoo. I don't think she has a partner yet."

And with that, he left.

I'm making the right choice... right?"

And that's how the rest of the night went. I avoided Jimin at all cost.

It was soon time for all of us to go to bed. Us girls shared one room, while the boys slept in the other rooms.

I was getting ready to sleep when Jisoo asked me, "Hey Ji-Hyun, why were you acting so weird with Jimin?"

However, before I was able to answer Jisoo, someone knocked on the door.

Yu-Na then opened the door revealing Jimin.

"Ji-Hyun, can I talk to you real quick?"

Jimin then led me downstairs to the living room.

Jimin then asks me, "Are you mad at me?"

I shake my head and say, "No."

"Then why did you avoid me all day today". I could hear the sadness in his voice, and it broke my heart. I didn't know it would affect him this much.

"I thought you liked Jisoo. So, I wanted to give you time to talk to her, "I confess.

Jimin then sighed and asked," I don't like Jisoo in that way. What made you think that I did?"

"Someone told me."

"Was it Yu-Jin?"

I then nod my head.

Jimin's voices rises a bit, "Why would you trust anything she says? You know that she can't be trusted".

I then respond in almost a whisper, "I know. I know. But I just couldn't get what she told me out of my head. It made me think of all the moments you would ask for Jisoo, which made me believe her when she said you only became my friend to get closer to her".

"I only did that so you wouldn't feel uncomfortable when you came to see my friends; since you aren't that close to them."

I then ask, "So, you didn't become my friend just because you wanted to get closer to Jisoo?"

"Do you remember when I told you I like this girl, but I couldn't tell you who it was?"

"Yes."

Jimin takes a deep breath and confesses, "I couldn't tell you who that girl was because you were the girl."

My heart started to race, "What?"

I was the girl Jimin liked? No way.

Jimin continued, "I know you must be in shook about what I just told you, and I probably shouldn't have told you this days before your surgery. But I needed to make sure you believe me when I say I did not befriend you because of Jisoo. I befriended you because I wanted to get to know you and only you, and don't worry, you don't have to give me your answer now."

I didn't know what to say.

I could hear Jimin get up from the couch, "I'll go tell Jisoo to take you to your room."

I then sat there all alone with what Jimin just confessed on repeat.

There is no way he would like me and if he did how did I not notice.

Once Jisoo brought me back to our room, Yu-Na asked me, "What did Jimin tell you?"

Jisoo then added, "Yeah, what did you guys talk about? Jimin was acting really weird. He came here and told me to go to you and just left after, without saying anything else."

I then confessed, "He told me he likes me."

A/N

Well, this is a pretty eventful chapter. The next chapter will be the final chapter of this book. I'm happy that I will finally be finishing this book, it took me too long. So, for a small life update since the last time updated was in January, I believe. Anyways so I've been doing online classes for a week now and it's pretty fun since I kinda get to decided what I do for each class since, for most of my classes, my teachers haven't assigned me anything. So, I've mainly spend my time on YouTube, watching K-dramas, and anime. Anyways I'll see you guys next week for the last chapter of Smile.
