They all walked quietly through the Western Airtemple. With so many of them Oppa couldn't fly them out so the just walked while the big beast flew silently above them. They had spent the night there in the temple but decided first thing in the morning, it was time the rest of the nations knew. Aang the Avatar had defeated the worlds worst enemy and they intended for everyone to know. So they went on their way towards any kind of supplies that could tie them over so Oppa could take two trips.
Tenzin and his family walked in front, the kids laughing and looking around in awe while he tried to get them to listen to his history lesson. Sokka and Toph walked slightly behind them both laughing at the mess that was Tenzin and talking about how crazy it is that he was a product of Aang and Katara. Korra was slightly behind them, in her own head looking as though a million questions had just been answered. Then there was Aang he walked slightly ahead of her. Katara knew she had to talk to them but she didn't want the others to hear. No, if they heard Katara declare her undying love for Aang, especially when she denied his affection not to long ago, she'd probably die.
She reached out and tugged on his sleeve. Aang turned around slightly to look at her, raising an eyebrow in the process that seemed to ask, what? Katara returned the silent conversation by holding a face that said, we need to talk. Aang sighed and slowed down to match her pace. Both walking slightly slower to create distance so they could talk privately.
Katara looked down slightly, "I'm sorry Aang... for a couple days ago. I had always thought what I felt for you was purely platonic. At least until you were shot down by Azula. I didn't realize until I almost lost you that I truly love you, more then anyone or anything. I can understand if you don't want to be with me now considering how I blew you off in the past."
By now they had both stopped walking. Katara could feel the tears run down her face as she thought of all the possibilities that would be the end of this conversation forever. Would she ever get to hold Tenzin in her arms as a baby or her other children? Would this entire beautiful family in front of them that her and Aang would have helped make disappear from existence entirely? Would she lose Aang forever?
However it wasn't long before tears weren't the only thing she felt touching her face. She looked up with a gasp as Aang stood in front of her caressing her tears away. He spoke in a quiet, loving voice, "You are my past, present, and future. I love you Katara, now and forever more."
And just like that Katara knew that everything would be alright, because they would be together.Well that kinda sucked, anyway I guess enjoy. And thanks so much for the reminders they really gave me enough will power to figure where the heck this is going lol.
