"Narsha! Did you get the things we need for tonight?"
"Yup! It's all in the pantry. What are you making tonight anyways Jake?"
"Lasagna? Pizza? I'm not really sure. What do you want kiddo?"
"LASAGNA!!!"
And yes. I'm a sucker for lasagna. With gooey cheese and olives. Yummy! We were having a welcome back party for Nina who is finally arriving after her flight got delayed twice by heavy snowing in London. Jake was the cook for the party, Nick was out buying decorations, and me, well, I'm doing the dishes later. Trust me there is gonna a LOT of them. Jake can cook up a killer meal but he can also make a killer mess.
We all woke up pretty late today so we were rushing around in panic. Nick was going to pick up Nina at the airport later and if we weren't ready yet, drive her around town. Jake just hurriedly took a shower and whipped us a quick brunch then set to work preparing for the party. Nick was still in bed too "sleepy" to get up. It's funny though how we was the first person to head to bed last night.
"Narsha, get Nick's butt off of bed then tell him to get the party decorations. I rang up Party Palace already and told them what I needed and charged it on credit. All he has to do is pick it up." Jake called from the kitchen, his head now bent down checking the oven.
"Nick! Get up! Nina's going to be home soon and the house still looks like the house!!!" I tried tapping his face and he just pushed it away. I then pulled his blanket off of him and brought out my very trustworthy spray bottle.
"Nick, I'm serious if you don't get up now, you're gonna get sprayed. And you and I both know nothing brings me more joy than to use this." I said with a very happy smirk as Nick bolted up from bed and gave me a dirty look.
"I'm up Narsha. Now put that bottle away and leave my room please!" Nick said with a wary expression, eyeing the spray bottle.
"Nuh-uh. I'm not leaving with this spray bottle until you're fully up, heading to the showering with your clothes. I'll just head out when you're in there." I said pointing to his bathroom. "And hurry up or I'm turning off the heater. You don't want to freeze now do you?" And with that, he bolted out of bed, picking up some clothes on the way and rushed into the bathroom. Mission accomplished.
With nothing to do till Jake's done messing up the kitchen, I headed out to town. I've been missing Little Bean's hot cocoa and oatmeal cookies. I haven't gone out of the house for a while now. Our lot is big enough for exercise so I don't really need to go out.
The sky was so beautiful. White with just a hint of blue. The weather these days was finally clearing up. There was still snow. One foot of snow to be exact. I was so wrapped up by the beauty of everything that I didn't notice someone in front of me until I bumped into them and heard an "Ooomph" and then a bit sort of crash. Well, whatever the sound of a person falling into snow makes. I looked and then saw Alex there, lying on the snow grinning at me. He looked so cute! Like a little snow angel. Wait what?! I did not just call a guy cute. Nuh-uh. No way.
I reached out a hand and he took it. Then pulled me to him on the ground.
"Hahahahahaha! Narsha you should seriously let loose a little more. Have some fun!" And with that, he dumped snow on my head and started running away. Oh it's on!
SNOW WARS!
