The sun streamed in through my blue curtains and smacked me in the face the next morning, forcing me out of sleep before my alarm even went off.

I begrudgingly threw the blankets off and hopped out of bed, getting in the shower to wash some sleep from my eyes.

The text Gavin sent me last night keeps running through my head and I can't help but get a slight fluttery feeling in the pit of my stomach when I think about seeing him in class today. Although I would never tell anyone, especially Chelsea, that out loud I would never hear the end of it.

After I've woken myself up enough to get ready for the day I decide to actually attempt fashion and pull out a cute top and match it with my brown leather jacket my mom got me and pairing it with my gladiator sandals.

Grabbing my curling wand I put loose beach waves into my hair to give it  a little volume and add some mascara. Even though I've only made a few changes to my morning routine, looking in the mirror, I almost don't recognize the girl staring back at me.

Knowing what I will endure as soon as I walk downstairs, i brace myself my the mountain of questions about to be thrown at me by my best friend and mother.

Unplugging my phone from my side table I stuff it into the back pocket of my shorts and make my way downstairs where I left my back pack by the door.

I hear giggling coming from the kitchen and roll my eyes knowing Chelsea is updating my mom on the latest high school gossip, despite us only being a couple days in.

Peaking my head around the corner, I see Chelsea at the bar while my mom as usual is whisking away at the stove for breakfast.

Attempting to act as nonchalant as possible I walk in as normal and take a seat next to Chelsea and wait for it.

"OMG Sarah did you actually dress up!!!" She basically screeches in my ear making me wince and once my ears begin to ring.

This causes my mom to spin around and face me to see what Chelsea is referring to and even her eyes go wide at my appearance. However she unlike Chelsea doesn't question me just gives me a smile.

"I think you love beautiful sweetheart, I'm glad you finally put that wand to good use your hair looks lovely." Giving a sigh of relief that my mom didn't bombard me with questions I thank her and begin digging in to my breakfast.

The silence is short lived though, seeing as I barely take a seat in the car before Chelsea starts rattling off questions to me, almost like an interrogation.

"Okay start talking!"

"Who did you get all dressed up for?"

"Oh my gosh was it Gavin?"

"It was Gavin huh""

"Oh my goodness Sarah give me all the details?!"

Knowing that she isn't going to stop until I at least answer one of her questions I slap my hand over her mouth and speak.

"If I tell you why I dressed up will you calm down and stop with the interrogation, please?"

She nods against my hand and I slowly release it from her mouth and she gestures as if she is zipping her lips closed and throwing away the key.

"Gavin text me last night and for some reason I can't get the text out of my head." She eyed me waiting for me to continue.

Here, read for yourself." I handed her my phone and she opened it reading the text. It only took a minute before her squeals could be heard a mile away.
