Standing at my locker I rummaged through my backpack making sure I had everything I was going to need. Closing my door I jump in surprise as Chelsea's cheery face stares back at me.
"What the heck Chels, you scared me."
She shrugs it off. "So I got a chance to hang out with Carter last night." We start walking to astronomy and I listen as she goes on and on about what they did.
"He even told invited me to hang out this weekend after the practice scrimmage." The excitement in her voice could fill a room.
Her and I take our seats and I wait for Gavin to make his and Carter's debut.
It only took a few seconds before I felt a pair of arms reach either side of my table and warms lips filled my ear.
"Hi beautiful." Gavin's lips were soft as they brushed my ear lobes causing a shiver to run up my sides.
Looking around the room I catch multiple eyes on us, particularly the girls that either look envious or like they wish I were 6 feet under.
As the blush subdues on my face, Gavin slides into his seat next to me and I peak over at him. He's got a sexy smirk on his face as he stares back at me.
"Hi Gavin." That's the only words I can muster up in response to his public display. Part of me isn't even sure why I'm so hung up on it because it's not like he kissed me or anything.
"You're coming to my house after school today right? I figured we could continue working on the project and hang out." He blushed finishing that sentence and it made me laugh that he got nervous talking to me.
"Yes, I am. Looking forward to it." I smiled at him and we turn our attention towards the front of the room while the teacher begins the lesson.
At the end of the period, I am putting stuff back in my locker when footsteps appear on the other side.
Closing the door, I turn to face Brittany with a smile on her face. Guilt suddenly fills me at the memory that I accused Gavin of cheating on her in their nonexistent relationship.
"You must be Sarah, Gavin won't stop talking about you and he has requested my assistance in escorting you to the fields while practice is finishing up." I give her a raised eyebrow at how memorized that speech sounded and tried not to smile.
"You must be Brittany?" I knew who she was but it felt weird already knowing her name given that we haven't spent much time with each other.
"Yeah sorry, maybe should've started with that. I'm sure Gavin has already told you but I'm Cameron's girlfriend. They are best friends and on the baseball team together." I smiled at her and held out my hand for her to shake.
She gave me an 'are you crazy look' and pulled me into her arms, giving me a tight hug. I hugged her back not sure what else to do.
Walking with her to the fields. I get a zing of excitement course through me as the boys come into view. Instead of just doing workouts like last time, the boys are actually in their positions doing a A vs B scrimmage.
Gavin isn't hard to find as he stands in the pitcher's mound looking handsome as ever with his baseball cap on backwards, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, and his pants clinging to his butt and thighs.
We walk up to the bleachers, and sit down. I meet Gavin's eyes and a smile lights my face as he sends a wink in my direction, then lifts his leg up to meet his hands and throws the ball as hard as he can, striking out his teammate.
Involuntarily I stand up and cheer and all eyes are on me. A flush of embarrassment heats up my face and I see Gavin's teammates ragging on him, he just takes it with a smile and winks at me once more.
