Hans wasn't a sweet and caring man. He had never been. Given that he had never had love randsupport, that even his own family thought of him only as the spare... as if he didn't exist at all, as if he was never born. It was true, he didn't know what family really means. He didn't even know the true meaning of love. Was he really capable of feeling love? Could he ever feel the same way about another human being? Or better, will he ever be loved? Those questions kept eating away at him. The Queen of Arendelle had made her decision. She did even let down her guard and was more than clear about her intentions. She was eager to give him what he really wanted, the crown of Arendelle, on a silver platter. She had asked him to stand by her side, to help her get what she really craved for and yet all he could think of was the words that that young Princess had just spat in his face.

" I hate you" He wanted to break into a good - natured laugh at first, but he knew better than that. It would be a total lie, had he just tried to hide the fact that he had heard those exact same words many times in his life.

" Get over it Hans. No one wants to play with you. We hate you" Rudi had yelled at an eight year old Hans. He had cried alot that night and had vowed that he would never let anyone had that effect on him. Westergaards are lions, not mice.

" You're not a Prince, Hans. You're much of a disgrace"

"Who could ever love you Hans? You're bound to be alone"

He would never shed a tear for anyone's sake. But, why did he feel the familiar sense of pain in his heart at, upon hearing those words? Those three words did stung, just like they did a few moments earlier. He looked into her big blue eyes. Princess Anna was angry, that he could tell, but did she really meant that? He may have met her only some days ago, but even for that short period of time, he was sure that Princess Anna wasn't capable of feeling hatred towards other people. Not even to her own sister, who had shut her out. But, he was not Anna. He could.... for his own family and even for himself. He wasn't that kind of Prince that Anna was looking for.

" Are you done Princess?" He finally asked her, his lips tightened in a grimace. " Are you done of accusing me? For I' m afraid I 've got some business to attend to" Anna was about to say something in return, but Hans' next words freezer her on her spot.

" You" He called to the blond man " Reindeer boy, what was your name again? " Kristoff didn't even bother to reply and in two long strides, he was standing next to the Princess.

" Take her back to Arendelle" He ordered him. Elsa could feel herself smiling, something that no one else in the ice castle noticed, except for Hans of course. As Kristoff tried to talk some sense into Anna and convince her that leaving was the best choice for her, the Prince said in a loud authoritative voice.

" Oh, and.. I almost forgot, let the guards know everything about Anna's disappearance. In fact, don't leave out a single detail " The Queen's eyes widened. Why was Hans acting that way? Weren't they accomplices?

" Hans, surely, you can't be serious about that, right ? " Elsa asked as she approached him. Hans offered her a dashing smile before nodding.

" Of course I am Elsa. I'm doing what we both know is right" He told her.

"Are you insane? You'll destroy everything. If they find out about- "

"That's your problem dear. You're their Queen and therefore you' ve got some responsibility to face with" He said in a low voice. Kristoff watched the whole scene and was completely confused. He merely wanted to get Anna out of this place, to ensure her safety. Not only that Prince Hans wanted to get rid off his former fiancée, but so did her sister, Queen Elsa. He gently wrapped his arm around the Princess's waist and tried to pull her along with him, but Anna wasn't willing to follow him.

" No" She screamed and that caught everyone's attention.

" I' m not leaving" She said in determination. Hans was amazed by her confidence. Even if she was not welcome here, even if her sister had given her the cold shoulder, she was still trying to make things right between them. Or she couldn't accept the fact that a Prince, himself, had turned her down for her sister? Or should he say, for the throne.

" And what makes you think you' re the one to decide Anna? I believe I ' ve already told you that I ' m not going to do anything about this whole 'winter" thing " Elsa said to her sister, knowing how stubborn Anna was.

" What are you saying Elsa? Are you even listening to yourself? You' re the ruler and people of Arendelle are looking to you. Don't let them down Elsa. But most of all, don't let down our parents' hope"

" You're the one to talk.... You were always loved by our parents. I' m sure that they both saw in you the future Arendelle's Queen. They had faith in you and always supported you. But what about me?" Kristoff wanted to intervene, out of fear that Queen Elsa was going to pour all of her anger out to Anna, but Hans held his hand up to stop him, as if he wanted to say... stay out of this. And for once, he agreed with the Prince.

" You don't mean that now Elsa. Mother and Father had always been by our side and I am absolutely positive that it would break their hearts to know that we're arguing right now" The Princess had tears in her eyes. The Prince knew that the Princess was really trying to make peace with her sister but he wasn't gonna pretend that he understood her. If it were up to him, he would have never made the first step to reconcile with his own brothers. He would have avoided it. Upon feeling hans' eyes o her, Anna wiped her face clean of tears. She didn't wish him to see her like that.  And then she heard Elsa say.

" Grow up Anna. Our parents were only trying to make a stong queen out of a monster" With a wave of her hand, ice formed around the air, dropping the temperature. Kristoff walked closer to Anna and took her hand in his. But, the Princess hadn't realized that.

" You're not a monster" Anna said in a sweet voice " You're my sister" Elsa looked at her with a dangerous glare. " Say it ever again, and you'll end up-"

" Elsa, please, that's not the time" Hans said in a soothing voice. The young woman looked back at him, trying to find out what he meant.

" Let them go, or else we might get into big trouble" He emphasized, pointing at Anna and Kristoff.

 " We?"

" We?" Anna and Elsa exclaimed simultaneously.

" Yes, you heard me right Elsa. You' re my soon to be wife now, aren't you? " Elsa couldn't hide her excitement and walked to where he wast standing and cupped his cheek lovingly. Anna was at a loss of words. Moments before Hans was trying to get her out of there and now he was back to being that arrogant, selfish Prince she wished she had never met.

" That won't be necessary, darling" Elsa answered to Hans. He blinked at that, for he didn't expect to hear such an answer. But then, it was Queen Elsa he was talking about...

" What do you mean? " He asked, his eyes never leaving hers. He swore he saw a wicked smile playing on her lips.

" As long as you keep your part of our deal, then I'll keep mine" She said, turning her attention back to her sister. Anna couldn't know what they were talking about. She felt a familiar tightening in her chest, as she heard Hans' answer.

" Your wish is my command, Your Majesty" Kristoff and Anna gasped as they both watched Hans' sword  turning into an ice sword. The moment Hans grabbed hold of the sword, he felt more powerful than before, his  green eyes much more darker, than before. As Hans made his way to them, Kristoff knew what he had to do. He stood in front of Anna, shielding her with his body.

" Stand aside" The Prince hissed. Kristoff shook his head. He would rather die, than let any harm come to the Princess.

"Get out of my way, I said"

" Hans" Anna cried softly, not even realizing that her life was in danger. No, this couldn't be true. Hans was not a villain. She could feel it.

" Run Anna, run" Kristoff pleaded with her, but Anna wasn't even listening. After a shaky breath, her gaze shifted from Hans to her sister, who was sitting on her ice throne, smirking. With a snap of her fingers, Kristoff froze to solid ice.
