Marinette walked into her room, feeling so much better. Waking up in the hospital had scared her out of her wits.
Adrien, Alya, and Nino had taken her to the park, and they hung out just like they used too. Marinette's parents gave her a chocolate chip cookie to have while she did her homework. And Chloe seemed to be done bullying her. Everything should have been perfect.
"Marinette." The blue-nette looked toward the balcony. Master Fu sat on the steps, smiling with relief. "Thank goodness your alright." Tikki flew out of Marinette's purse. "Not quite, Master." The old guardian tipped his head, before taking in what she was wearing. "You have decided to try a new fashion sense?" Marinette giggled. "No, silly, wearing it makes me feel better." Tikki decided to jump in. She explained the accident and all the changes Marinette was now experiencing, mental and physical.
"See, Master, I'm not sure if it's safe for her to be Ladybug anymore. She's got the mind of a toddler." While they were talking, Marinette slipped behind her vanity board and changed into her new pajamas; a white footie sleeper, decorated with colorful dots. She giggled at it, and sat down at her desk, drawing in her design book. Tikki peered over her shoulder, and sighed in relief when she saw Marinette designing a hip, shirt-skirt combo with a matching sweater.
Master Fu pondered all this. "We'll have to hope, Tikki. Perhaps the powers of the miraculous may heal her."
Master Fu talked with Marinette, and soon became charmed by her new innocence and simplicity. He left her before her parents could spot him, and Marinette moved to tuck herself in.
'I can't believe they're reading her a bedtime story,' Tikki thought to herself, as Tom closed the book. He cupped his sleeping daughter's cheek. "I know I should be worried, but I'm just so happy to have my baby girl back." He turned on the nightlight, and left for the night.
Hawkmoth stood in his hideout, feeling the negative emotions caused by Ladybug's sudden injury. He cared for none of them. They were not strong enough.
He wanted Chat Noir's. The hero was surely feeling guilty for almost causing her death.
"Sir," Nathalie's voice brought him back to earth. "I doubt this accident will be useful to our cause. They wouldn't want to hurt Ladybug any further." Hawkmoth sighed. He had to agree with her.
But Marinette's sudden head trauma had stirred a lot of worry. He just had to wait for his little prodigy to step up her plan.
She said he'd have to wait...at this point, it was all he could do.
Lila rooted around in her new orange purse, and pulled out twenty dollars for each boy. "Good job, Ricky. Good job, Todd." Her cousins walked away, yapping to one another.
'So, Marinette wears diapers, hmm?' The news of Marinette's new physical and mental struggles would make her plan a little harder to pull off. She would be too innocent to frame, and to naive to believe any threat. Of course, Lila certainly hoped she could manipulate her some how.
'Hawkmoth's going to love this.'
Marinette entered school, holding tight to a stuffed bear. The teddy flopped about in her arms, as she scampered up to her friends. Chloe and Sabrina were puzzling over their math homework, with Adrien Alya and Nino offering assistance. Of course, there was someone else there.
"...and he told me he was going to put my name in a song of his own!" Lila turned and smiled. "Oh. Hi, Marinette!" Marinette's brows furrowed. "Who put you in a song?" Lila smiled, thinking Marinette might start believing her. "Jagged Stone."
