"So," Clarice chewed her sandwich. "I hear the new akuma caused some havoc?" "Not new, old." Marinette corrected her. "It's Lila again. By now, people think she gets akumatized all the time because of me."
"And it's not you?"
"No!" Marinette sighed, and glanced at her untouched lunch. A thermos of her favorite soup, a dices fruit cup, and a small cake with a bottle of milk. Her parents always placed a bib in as well. Marinette was glad she wouldn't have anyone judging her for it here.
"I'd eat that." Clarice advised her. Marinette sighed, and started to eat her soup. "So, what's really on your mind?" Clarice asked.
"It's my powers. Master Fu told me this was completely natural for my new Miraculous, but I'm still..."
"Shocked?"
"Yeah." Marinette stirred her soup for a moment, before turning to Clarice. "If you suddenly had powers you never thought of, what would you do?"
"Roll with it." Marinette considered this, before nodding. What Clarice was saying made sense.
"Oh, I got some news." Marinette raised an eyebrow. Clarice opened her Swan bracelet's locket, where she kept a mirror, and a kwami flew out.
"Hi." She greeted. "I'm Plia, and I'm Clarice's kwami." Clarice smiled. "I could help you next time. Be your moral support."
"I guess Master Fu wouldn't mind." Marinette responded thoughtfully. They ate the rest of their lunch in mostly silence, unaware that they were being watched.
Lila, who was on her lunch break, watched them from a window, wondering what to do with Marinette. The blue-nette was at a different school now, but Lila still didn't think they were finished.
Everyone thought Marinette's condition was fake, now. That was a start. Lila had to elaborate on that somehow...
"...So, I tried to tell them Marinette's just throwing a fit because she's not getting her way," Lila told her parents over dinner. It was rare when they were all together for this meal, and Lila wanted to make the most of it. "But, they didn't believe me. They think she's really damaged." Lila's mother, Gretal, shook her head in disapproval. "That girl," she sighed. "It seems like she's bent on making your life miserable." Lila nodded solemnly. "I'm just so worried for her. It can't be good for her to be surrounded by all those other kids." Lila feigned concern, to build a bad note of Marinette to her parents. If her parents though Marinette was a bully, that would make things better in the end.
Once supper was over, Lila went online to search for something. She was taking a huge step, and she knew it, but she'd be proud of herself afterward...
Alya watched the video in horror. It showed Marinette, faking injury and paying the doctors for supporting her. It showed her parents, who were hoping that, by having a disabled daughter, they'd gt better sales. 'Bye bye, Marinette.' Lila thought to herself. After all this bad review, they'd have to move, and Marinette would be officially done. Lila would also make sure her life in whatever country she moved to would be worse than it was here! Ah, such a wonderful thing, the internet.
"I don't believe it," Alya breathed.
Then, she snapped. "Marinette was taking advantage of us??!" Nino jumped in. "Oh, come on! Why would she bend over backwards to help us all the time, if she were taking advantage of us?"
"Probably to get more attention." Alya snapped. "At least she did good things," Lila offered, knowing she'd be better off if she pretended to have at least a little sympathy for Marinette. This was only the start of it...
