Marinette returned the Butterfly Miraculous to Master Fu, alongside Adrien. She had him leave the room, though. She couldn't bare to tell him it was his father who'd been behind it all.

Master Fu gave her a hug, expressing utter gratitude. Marinette sighed. "I didn't find the Peacock Miraculous. But, I have the feeling it was Nathalie who had it." Marinette proceeded to tell Master Fu what had happened. The great master stroked his chin, deep in thought.

Marinette's next words surprised him. "I want to keep my Miraculous for just a little bit longer. To wake her up."

Adrien, Marinette and Master Fu gathered at the gate of the Agreste mansion. They were allowed in without any questions, and trooped silently to Gabrielle's office. Adrien ran forward, and gave him a hug. "Dad!"

Gabrielle hugged Adrien back. Master Fu walked up too him, hands behind his back. "I'd like to see Emily Agreste."

They stood in front of the coffin. Adrien felt like he was walking into a dream. "She's...asleep?"

"I believe so." Gabrielle responded. Master Fu continued his ritual. Marinette couldn't tell what he was doing, but it looked really complicated.

Finally, the old guardian stood up. "The Miraculous can save her, but, it has been so long." He shook his head sympathetically. "It may not work, when the Miraculous holders are so young." Marinette stepped forward. "We're willing to try." She turned to Gabrielle. "Maybe, if you had asked, we might have let you borrow the Miraculous." She handed her necklace to Adrien. "She's your mother." Adrien stared at it for a moment, before handing it back, along with his ring. "No. You'll have better luck than I will." Marinette giggled, and slipped the jewellery on.

"PLAGG! TIKKI! UNIFY!" Lights flashed. When they finally died down, Marinette stood in their place, wearing her Piao Chong uniform, only this time, her skirt was black, and her dots were more savage-looking.

She closed her eyes, and concentrated. Somehow, she knew what to do. "I wish..."

Light flew from her mouth. It circled the coffin, and blinded the onlookers. It was as if the butterflies surrounding the coffin were glowing, as shots of light flew in all directions.

As soon as it had started, the mini-light show went out. They were left in total darkness.

One by one, the lights came back on. Everything looked the same, except for one things.

Emily's eyes were open.

Adrien's own eyes widened. "Mom?"

As if she were waking up from a nap, Emily opened the coffin and stepped out. The sight before her should have been strange, but, she'd seen enough of the Miraculous to be used to it.

Marinette left the mansion feeling like a real princess, not because she had magically woken her friend's sleeping mother, but because she had helped. Tikki flew out of her purse. "I'm proud of you, Marinette. It looks like that accident changed you for the better." Marinette giggled, grateful that she was allowed to keep her Miraculous. "Thanks, Tikki."

Master Fu walked beside her, silent. Finally, he spoke. "Hawk Moth's influence has caused some changes. the Akuma's no loner need Nooroo's magic to possess someone." Marinette nodded. "I had a feeling that would be the case." Master Fu opened the Miracle box, and placed the Peacock Miraculous inside. Nathalie had been more than happy to give it up, now that her dear friend had finally gotten his wife back. She had also become a member of the Agreste family, and Adrien's little sister was on her way.

It was almost perfect.

Marinette sighed, gaining Master Fu's attention. "What's wrong, Marinette?"

"Well, I'm thinking...without Hawk Moth, or Lila, life will bee...normal." Master Fu nodded. "But, there will always be akuma's, as long as there is anger in the world. I don't think you'll be giving up your Miraculous that easily."

When they got back to Mater Fu's shop, they found a strange surprise waiting for them. Bunnix stood in the middle of the room, pacing back and forth.

"Finally," she swooped forward and gave Marinette a hug. "I've been wondering when you'd come back."

"What's wrong, Bunnix?" Marinette asked sweetly. Bunnix couldn't help a chuckle. "That accident really did you in." she turned serious. "I wanted to see what was going on at this end. The future Hawk Moth, we just figured out it's a she!" Marinette and Master Fu looked at each other in shock. Then, they started to laugh.

"What?" Bunnix's brows furrowed. Marinette wiped a tear from her eye. "Boy, do we have a story for you."

Marinette went to sleep happy that night, tucked safely in her crib. Tikki watched her for a moment, before flying out to meet Plagg on her balcony. "It's amazing." She told him. "It's like that accident was meant to happen." Plagg nodded. "Yeah. I'm just glad Adrien finally settled on a lady-friend."

Lila's life was down the drain. It was Saturday, and her first day at Skyward Pines was tomorrow. So, her mother did everything she could to 'prepare her.'

Of course, Lila got plenty of lectures about her actions. To finalize her punishment, she was scheduled for Maintenance Spankings before bed every night. It was infuriating, lying there with a burning bottom, angry at the world.

Tonight was different.

"Honey." Gretal sat on the edge of the crib. Her daughter looked away. "You know I love you." she began, but Lila scoffed. Her mother watched her with frightening concern. Her anger seemed to be getting worse, not better.

"Lila, I don't know why you did that, but I feel it's safe to assume this has something to do with all the moving. And, I think starting over from the beginning, and reliving your life in Paris, would be the best option here."

"Scram, lady." Gretal glared. "Lila, a girl's bottom can take more than one whacking." She stood up and left, hoping this school Marinette's parents talked about would help her daughter.

Lila waited until the pain wore off, and sat up in her crib. She looked around at her room. All her decorations had been taken down, and her room was now a cheery nursery, for an extremely girly little girl.

There was a changing table, a rocking chair, and all that jazz. A pile of stuffed animals sat in the corner waiting for her. Her bookshelf was filled with brightly colored story books, including Peter Rabbit, The Secret Garden, and Matilda.

Her father came walking in with her evening bottle. He placed the tip in her mouth, and held it there, and began to wind the key on the back of Bedtime Bunny. A soft tinkling melody filled the room, making Lila angrier.

She would have Marinette back for this.
