BRANDI'S POV

After waking up to Dylan sitting next to me while I was dreaming about making out with him, I decide I need a shower. I have to shake this feeling, I can't be feeling this way. It will make things too complicated. Unless, what if he feels the same way? No. He wouldn't. He can't, he's seen milk spill out of my nose for god's sake!

I don't exactly remember when the water turned cold, all I know is this water is freezing. I don't mind it actually, it's distracting me. That's what I need a distraction, maybe I can find someone to friend while I'm out here. That's exactly what I'll do, I'll head down to the mall and search for possible friends. I'm shaken out of my thoughts when I hear a knock on the door. It's my mother.

"Brandi sweetheart? Are you alright, you've been in there for a while." She sounds worried. How long have I been in here?

"Yeah mom I'm good, I'm just rinsing off." I lie.

"Okay, when you're done come downstairs and we'll talk about today's plans." She tells me.

I dry off and head to my suitcase to get changed. I decide to go with light pink shorts, a Hollister t-shirt, and white chucks. I brush my hair and hope today will be a good hair day. When I'm finished changing, I head down stairs and into the kitchen where everyone seems to be waiting.

I make eye contact with Dylan and look away too soon. When I look back, he has a worried expression on his face. I turn to the fridge and grab a water.

"Pass me one, will ya?" his voice startles me and I jump.

I turn around and hand him a bottle, when of course our hands touch. I pull away and end up dropping the water on the floor. Damn it, it can't be like this forever right? He's my best friend.

...

DYLAN'S POV

What the hell is going on with Brandi? She's been acting really weird around me since she woke up this morning. I didn't freak her out by being there, did I? Shit. I just got worried when I heard her talking in her sleep. Did she have a nightmare? Was I in it?

After I tune out of our parents' conversation about them going out today to the ... country club I think they said. I look over at Brandi who doesn't seem to be paying much attention either. We make brief eye contact, and I walk from the kitchen over to where she is sitting on the living room couch and I sit next to her. She shifts uncomfortably and tries to cover it up by offering a friendly smile. She failed miserably.

"Whatcha want to do today?" I ask, trying to ignore her discomfort.

"I was gonna go to the mall today. Just hang out I guess." She answers sounding less uncomfortable than she looks.

"Cool, I'll go with you." I smile.

"Um okay. Cool." She replies, getting up.

What the hell happened to my best friend who was never afraid to tell me anything?

BRANDI'S POV

Me and Dylan are just wandering aimlessly around this stupid mall. He occasionally tries to make conversation, but fails miserably when I reply with a nod or one word response. I want to talk to him, I just don't know how.

Ugh, this is bullshit, way to be a real girly girl and fall for your best friend Brandi. Way to go, dumbass!

"Alright, I'm done here. Any stores you want to check out?" I ask, leaving a small gift shop with way overpriced gum.

"No I'm cool." He says

"Yeah, yeah so cool." I reply rolling my eyes at him

"Oh so you haven't lost your sarcastic touch?" He replies shoving me
