DYLAN'S POV

I wake up on a gurney surrounded by paramedics, it's dark outside and I realize we're still in the restaurant parking lot.

"Male, 18 suffering from a couple bruises and scratches, doesn't seem to be affected by the accident too much, stitch him up and he should be good." A female paramedic tells to two guys standing in the back of an ambulance.

Accident? What accident? A pang of worry and pain washes over me, where is Brandi? I sit up and start looking around before the paramedics pull that "sir you have to stay calm" bullshit. I force myself off the gurney and start running around. I'm so sore, but I have to find her.

There's three ambulances, I run to the closest one. There's a guy in there, he's old and unconscious. I run to the next one. My knees betray me and I fall to the floor. I can't feel anything but numbness.

Brandi is laying on a gurney in the back of an ambulance unconscious with three paramedics working on her. I try to understand what they're saying but they're speaking too quickly and using terms I've never heard.

I jump into the ambulance and grab her hand, "Brandi! Brandi!" I start to break down in front of all these people I don't know. "I'm so sorry. Please, come on. You gotta wake up."

"Excuse me sir, who are you?" One of the medics asks.

"I'm her boyfriend. Is she going to be okay? Please just fix her." I must look ridiculous but I don't care.

"We'll do anything we can to help her, does she have any family we can get a hold of?" The paramedic asks.

My body stiffens oh my god! Her parents! I pat around my thighs in search of my phone. I can't find it. I look around for the shiny black glass screen. Finally I find the cracked screen of my iPhone, shit I hope it works. I hold my breath as I click the home button and the screen comes to life.

I unlock it and dial Kelly as fast as I can type. I try to think of how I should tell her as the ringing pierces the inside of my ear.

"Hello?" Her voice comes through the phone.

I swallow hard, "Kelly.."
