y/n's POV:

y/n: "There's gotta be at least one here. Please give me the luck this time!"

I scanned through the shelves of the 6th bookstore I've visited and was desperate to find the next volume of my favorite limited edition series. It was a horror series and the newest volume has just been released, but most of them have already been sold out in a matter of seconds as every bookstore I've visited were crowded with people who were looking to buy the same book as me.

As I scanned every single area thorougly, to my luck, I finally was able to find the book I've been looking for. And the thing is, there was only one more copy left, so I quickly got my hands on it.

y/n: "Yes! Finally"

I smiled excitedly as I hugged the book in my arms. After I found the book, I began walking towards the counter to pay for it until I felt eyes on me from the corner of my eyes. As I turned the eyes that were staring back at me. I saw a guy around the same age as me leaning on a bookshelf with his arms crossed as he stares at me expressionless.

"Why is he staring at me? Does he need something?"

 I thought as I stared back at him awkwardly. But then he begins walking up to me while keeping his eyes locked on mine. His arms stilll crossed as he reaches me. After he stood in front of me, he averts his eyes to the book I'm holding and then back up to meet my eyes again.

???: "Give me that book."

Was what he said with a monotone voice.

y/n: "Excuse me? I got this book first"

I replied back as I held my tightly in my chest and glared at him.

???:"Does it look like I care? Just give it to me."

He says nonchalantly as he rolls his eyes at me and extends his hands out so he could take the book from me.

y/n: "I'm not giving you the last copy of this book even if you asked a thousand times!"

I refused and turned away from him until I heard a finger snap as someone else approached me right away. An older looking man prevented me from walking any further as he easily takes the book away from while it was loosely held in my arms.

???: "I apologize for my rudeness Miss, but I need to follow orders." 

The man apologizes and then heads over to the guy from before.

y/n: "Excuse me, but that's my book! You took it from me!"

I pointed at my book that's now in the hands of the guy whiles scowling at him. The guy didn't say anything and just walked away. I was going to follow him and get my book back until the old man stopped me again.

???: "Once again, I apologize for what happened. Please just take this and go on your way."

He gives me an envelope with monehy inside and then bows and leaves before I could even say anything back.

y/n: "W-wait! Take this back, I don't need this!"

I was shouting back at the old man, but he didn't even turn around. When I chased after them, they were akready gone in an instant. They disappeared and I couldn'y find them at all.

y/n: "H-how did they just disappear like that!? That can't be possible!"

I looked around everywhere and even briefly went out to look for them, but they were nowhere to be found, So I came back inside the bookstore.

y/n: "What the hell? Why did they just leave like that, and what do they take me for!?"

I anfrily stared at the envelope that was still in my hands and sighed deeply.

y/n: "I guess I just really have bad luck with that book. I can't even get my hands on any of them"

My mood completely got ruined by what happened. But I still didn't want to leave the bookstore empty handed since I came a long way. So I tried searching for some interesting books.
