-Next morning-

Minju: "y/n, can you hurry up? If we don't start heading there right now, then we're for sure going to be late!"

Minju paces around impatiently while I was literally running around in the house trying to get ready and stuff.

y/n: "Well whose fault was it that I wasn't told what time I was supposed to leave at huh!? Now I barely have time to get ready because of that someone!"

I shook my head in disappointment as I glared at her.

Minju: "I know, and I'm sorry for not notifying you over the phone, but I was in a hurry to pick up my little sister from daycare while we were on the phone. That's why I couldn't cover everything."

She tries to explain.

y/n: "Let's just go, we don't want to be later anyways. There's no time for any more talking."

I rolled my eyes at her and grabbed my purse and keys as we left the house. As we got on our second bus to get to work, I begun to wonder how far the workplace actually was. it felt like it was going to take hours just to get there and that we may actually be very late.

y/n: "Yah, is the workplace all the way on the other side of the world or something?"

I asked Minju.

Minju: "That's why I woke you up early. And relax, we're almost there, I promise"

She gives you a reassuring smile.

"One moment she's impatient and worrying, the next she's relaxed and isn't bothered by how long it might take."

I thought in my head.

"The hell is wrong with this girl?"

Minju: "Anyways, did you get the book that you've been waiting to get your hands on for a long time?"

She asks and I'm instantly reminded of what happened that day.

y/n: "Sadly not because of a certain someone who snatched it out of my hand! That ratbag!"

I replied, annoyed of what happened.

Minju: "Oh wow, he really is a ratbag for doing that"

She agrees.

y/n: "And on top of that, he thinks money can solve everything!? Pft! Next time I see him again, I'll make sure the gets what he deserves!"

Minju: "Uhm... y/n, I think you need to calm down a bit-"

Minju tries to calm me down, But she totally failed.

y/n: "I will not calm down! I'm not going to let him get away with what he did! That bad luck!"

My eyes were glaring out the window as I spoke and Minju just decided to stay quiet because she know show scary I get when I'm angry.

When we finally arrived at the workplace, I realised that were about to work in a huge building. It was not what I was expecting at all. I was in awe at how huge and glassy the interior of the building looked, but what I was mostly feeling was disappointment.

y/n: "Uhm... what exactly in this place that we're working at?"

I asked Minju, feeling a little anxious.

Minju turns to me as she looked a little hesitant and a bit... sorry?

Minju: "Well, the thing is... this company that we're working at... is actually one of the biggest and most famous modelling agencies in Korea."

Once she let out those words, I froze with widened eyes.

y/n: "W-what did you just say?  A modelling agency?"

I repeated what she said in disbelief.

y/n:" I can't believe you brought me to this kind of place of all places. You know that I hate entering places that are well know or have a lot of people working in them!"

I glared daggers at her as I angrily spat out my words.

"Who knows if there may be cameras or paparazzi all over the place just to take pictures or discuss about hot topics."

I thought.

Mom would never want me to even step foot in these kind of places knowing exactly what kind of pain she went through and what kind of trauma I developed after her passing.

y/n: "I'm leaving. Don't try and stop me because it's not going to work."

I turned on my heels and was about to leave the place, but Minju held firmly onto my hand as she pleaded for me to stay.

Minju: "Please don't leave, I don't want us to just quit like this, y/n. I know how much it hurts for you to be reminded of these kind of places, but I didn't apply for us to cause more pain to you."

She starts explaining, and I could tell that her voice was shaky as she spoke.

Minju: "I did this for you, y/n. I did this so I could help you overcome your fear because I hated seeing how broken you were all the time, and  I wanted to see the strong y/n again. The bulletproof y/n that no one can harm."

Minju: "And we promised each other that we would stick with each other in tough situations. That we would help each other when we went through hard times."

Not gonna lie, her words melted my cold heart and sent tiny tears streaming down my face, but I quickly wiped them away because I knew that if she saw me crying, then she would cry as well.

And of course, she had to bring up the promises to convince me. When was she never there for me when I needed her? So... I turned back around and sighed when I saw she was about to cry. I hugged her and finally agreed to stay a nd work with her even though I knew that I wouldn't end up liking it a bit.

I had to do it for her and for myself. I knew that I needed to get over my trauma sooner or later even if it was the most challenging thing to do.
