As I started searching for books, my phone suddenly started ringing as I was getting a phone call from someone. When I checked to see who called, I realised that it was Minju, my friend.

y/n: "Hey, what's up?"

I spoke through the phone once I answered it.

Minju: "Hey, y/n I have some great news to tell you, and I think that you'll be excited about it!"

She spoke back to me in an excited tone as I suddenly become interested.

y/n: "What is it?"

I asked.

Minju: "Okay, remember when you asked me to help you find a job after you lost your other job because of that jerk boss of yours?"

It's true, I lost my job previously and got fired because I didn't oblige to my perverted boss's requests. He was secretly harassing me and touching me in an inappropriate manner. It was honestly unsettling and nobody would believe me. It gave me nightmares as well and I'm glad I got fired, because if I kept working there, everything would just get worse and I knew I had to stand up for myself, which caused me to get fired in the end.

I don't regret standing up for myself though. In fact, that's the best decision I've made.

y/n: "Yeah... what about it?"

I asked again, sensing where this is going as I started getting a little excited.

Minju: "Well... I finally found you one after so many tries. You should thank me greatly since this was the only job I could find for you!"

y/n: "Oh my gosh, really!? Did you really find me a job?!"

My voice became excited as my body couldn't stay still.

Minju: "Yeah! And guess what? You'll be working with me! Isn't that exciting!?"

Once I heard that, my expression turned blank and my excitement dissipated"

y/n: "Oh yeah... I forgot that you're jobless."

I replied, unamused. 

Reason for why my excitement dropped? Well... every time Minju and I apply for a job together, we always get fired not long after we start working because she always ends up ruining everything for us.

Minju: "Yah! It wasn't my fault that all those people we worked with had crappy attitudes! I'm sorry, but I just needed to get both of us out of those toxic places!"

y/n: "And you think yours is any better?"

Minju: "Can you stop roasting your best friend for once? I promise you that this job will last us longer than the rest. I won't mess it up for us."

She promised, but I was still doubtful about it. But then again, she tried her hardest and I've been jobless for a while now. I need the money to pay for bills and stuff as well because I don't want to keep relying on my dads money.

y/n: "Ugh, fine! But if you dare mess it up again, I swear-"

Minju: "Don't worry, I won't let you down! I'll come pick you up tomorrow and we can go together tomorrow to officially start working!" 

She assures me and I wasn't even prepared for the last part of her sentence.

y/n: "Wait- what??? Tomorrow!?"

My eyes widened at the suddenness and she could tell what was going to happen next, so she spoke fast.

Minju: "Alright, you see tomorrow then! Bye~"

She quickly says and then hangs up before I could even speak.

y/n: "Y-yah! This brat dare to give me this news then hang up on me!?"

I closed my eyes and tried to relax myself as I was getting more annoyed by the time.

y/n:"Relax, y/n. You can kill her next time"

I say to myself as I continue looking for books before finally buying one and leaving the book store.
