-An hour later-

y/n: "Where would she have gone!?"

I looked everywhere for her around the area, but to no avail.

Everyone had been looking for her for about an hour already, but still haven't found a single clue of where she went.

y/n: "I don't think she's anywhere around here either"

I said to myself as I found no hope in this area as well. But as I was about to turn around to leave this area, I heard what seemed to be faint crying. At first I thought I was hearing things because the crying stopped for a few seconds. But then as it continued, that was when I was sure that it was real.

So I quickly ran to where I thought I heard the sound. But the place I entered wasn't the kind of place any child should hide in.

I coughed as I entered a dark place that was filled with dust and big pieces of wood planks everywhere. There were also broken glass and random objects lying around. Overall, the place looked creepy as hell and I did not want to stay inside for long, so I decided to call out for Angie who I was hoping would answer.

y/n: "Angie? Are you in here?"

I called out, but it was silent.

y/n: "Angie!"

I called again. I had a strong feeling inside of me that she would be in here. I couldn't leave without finding her.

When I received no answer, I was starting to become desperate for her answer, but then realisation his me when I thought of how Angie would act in these kind of situations.

From the first time I met her, I knew she was different from the rest of the children. She was good at hiding and would often hide herself from everyone. Of course she wouldn't reply to anyone who called out for her. But I knew exactly what to do and how to get her to come out of hiding.

I untied my shoelaces.

y/n: "Oh no, my shoelaces are untied! Can someone tie it for me?"

I began speaking again, hoping this trick would work on her.

And to my luck, I saw her emerging form the corner of the room. She hid behind a big stack of wooden planks with some other dangerous materials.

Angie: "I'll tie it for you!"

As soon as she came out of hiding, she ran to me and started tying my shoelaces.

If there's one thing I know well about Angie, it's that she likes to tie people's shoelaces. It's her favourite thing to do... ever since she was with her mum. Because her mum would always ask her to help her tie her shoelaces. Every single time it was untied.

After she finished tying my shoelaces, I caressed her hair and finally felt relieved that I had found her safe.

y/n: "Thank you, Angie"

I thanked her and she returned with a sweet smile that softened my heart.

y/n: "Let's go back now, okay?"

I held her hand and we were about to leave, until she stopped walking and turned around.

Angie: "Wait, I can't forget about teddy!"

She drags me with her back to the spot she hid in as she went looking for her teddy.

As she retrieved it, I looked at her in confusion. As far as I know, she didn't carry around a teddy with her when she came to the playground. So where did she get it from.

y/n: "Angie, where did you get this teddy from?

I asked.

Angie: "It was left on a bench, so I took it and brought it with me"

She explains and I frown a bit.

y/n: "Angie... what if it was one of the children's who were playing at the playground? What if they forgot it?"

Angie: "But... mommy didn't get the chance to buy me one"

As she says that, my heart broke because of how sad she looked.

y/n: "How about you keep teddy safe with you until we find the owner? Then I can buy you a new one. How about that?"

I asked her and she managed a smile as she nodded.

Then I took her hand again and began leading her out of the spot. But as we started moving, Angie's foot accidentally hit the big pile of wooden planks, making it wobble. Before we knew it, the big wooden planks started falling from the top.

y/n: "Angie, watch out!"

I shouted as I hovered above Angie to try and protect her from the wooden planks.
