Disclaimer: This another She-ra AU! Catra has joined the Princess Alliance after being redeemed between seasons 3-4, and nothing from season 4 is relevant except the sword shattering. This is set after a battle with Horde Prime.

Adora dragged herself back to the Brightmoon Castle. The war was finally over, all Horde troops wiped clean. Adora smiled at the princess alliance, all cheering a few paces ahead of her. Glimmer turned to Adora and said something about humanitarian efforts. Adora snapped out of her daze and nodded quickly. Catra ran up to Adora, smiling admiringly at the sky.

"The stars, they're pretty aren't they?"

"They're beautiful." Adora managed to respond, her chest aching. Catra swung her arm over Adora's shoulders. "C'mon Princess, its time for bed anyway. " She yawned as they walked the palace together.

Adora woke up the next morning with the worst headache of her life. She felt as if the sword of protection was repeatedly slammed into her forehead. She found her self swaying uneasily as she stood, and sat down as she heard Cara approaching.

"Did you just wake up? Sparkles told me to call you downstairs for breakfast."

Adora eased herself out of bed, clinging to the walls for support. Catra watched nervously as Adora stumbled and swayed out the room.

In the dining room, Glimmer had laid out platters of grains and fruit, a plate of ten buttermilk pancakes in the center of it all. Adora nibbled at a strawberry while Glimmer spoke. "I would like to applaud you all for this victory. However, much still needs to be done to return Etheria to its former glory. You may all return to your kingdoms, and Adora, Bow and I will help accordingly."

The princesses nodded and left the table. " Adora, we need to report to Dryll in a few minutes, ill teleport us all when we're ready."

Adora nodded and sunk back into her chair while everyone left the room. Everyone except Catra.

"Are you feeling alright Adora? you've been acting weird all morning." She lifted her hand to feel Adora's face.

Adora moved away. "I'm fine, just a little tired since the sword shattered."

Catra nodded and left the room.

A while later, Glimmer decided to only take Bow on the mission to Dryll, which was probably for the best. Adora sat on her bed as Catra laughed at a joke Mermista had told her. She tried to stay awake, look like she was entertained, but she couldn't stop shivering.

Finally, Adora's stomach began twisting painfully. She forced herself to breathe. "Catra?"

"Yeah?"

"It is just me, or is really cold in here?"

"It's just you." Catra laughed, shoving Adora playfully. She was startled by the warmth of Adora's kneck.

"Adora, you're burning up! "

"Really, I hadn't noticed." Adora forced a smile but shivered painfully.

" I know I should've let you sleep in today." The Magicat ran her fingers through Adora's hair. She pulled a blanket out from the bed and wrapped it around Adora. Catra wasn't worried about catching whatever Adora had, she had a stronger metabolism than normal.

Catra embraced Adora until she fell asleep, then tiptoed out of the room. She found a tablet on the windowsill and called Glimmer.

"Catra? We're almost done with the mission, what's up?"

"Any chance Adora can heal herself without the sword?"

"I'm not sure. Why?" Glimmer grew panicked.
