Chapter 14: Lucas is Back

When Evie and the girls made it back to her place, they went inside to find Dizzy and the twins asleep on the couch. Celia went over and put a blanket over her friends and assured them that everything would be okay. They then noticed a loud snoring, and Uma was the first to investigate. With Evie and Mal behind her, Uma followed the sound to Evie's design room, where Lucas was asleep on the floor.

"Uh, who's the dude?" Uma asks.

"Lucas." Evie answers. She kneeled down next to him and tried to wake him up, but nothing happened.

"He's spelled." Uma says. "Is she not a fast learner?" She then asks Mal.

"She's emotionally involved, okay?" Mal responds.

"Well, in that case, she should be able to wake him up." Uma says, but Evie just gave her a confused look. "True love's kiss." Uma adds, "Works every time."

"We haven't actually used the 'L' word yet." Evie says. "Can we be alone?"

Mal and Uma left the room, but returned to watch from the doorway shortly after.

As Evie was singing, she danced around the room and had moved Lucas on top of her design table. She then looked down at him before brushing her hair back.

'Please work,' she thought as she leaned over and kissed him. At first, nothing seemed to work, but when she turned away, Lucas looked up at her, quickly lying back down when she turned back to him. However, she caught him and hit him on the leg when he started laughing.

"Come on, I had to." Lucas says, sitting up. "It was too good to pass up."

"Really, Lucas?" Evie asked, "You almost scared me."

"I'm sorry. I won't do it again."

"You're lucky I love you."

"I love you, too." Lucas responds, putting an arm around Evie.

The two met up with Mal, Uma, and Celia, who were eating more of Jane's cake.

"Uma, hi." Lucas says nervously.

"Hey." She responds.

"It's alright, Lucas. She's with us." Evie says, catching him up on what happened since they left.

Suddenly, a bunch of planks started slamming against the doors and windows. They met up with Mal and Celia in another room and asked what was going on. Mal's eyes glowed green and she tries to use a spell to stop it, but it didn't work. Uma's necklace started glowing and both girls used their magic. This time, the planks just feel to the ground.

"You did it." Evie says, "Together. This is what I've been talking about."

"I guess my shell likes you." Uma says to Mal. She then pulls out a blue stone and hands it to her while Celia went to look out one of the windows, where she saw Jane and the guys approaching.

"Hey, it's your bae." She says.
