*Whimsical flashback music starts*
"Alright, for this training exercise—You're gonna go out in the dark in the forest and Class 1-B has to scare Class 1-A. 1-A will look for cards with their names on it or somethin'. Also, after fifteen minutes, vice versa," explained Mr. Aizawa. "Also, you're going in pairs. Pick someone. Just don't use this opportunity to make out or beat each other up. Remember, this is big brain time."
"Wow, that's so descriptive," Katsuki commented.
"I know. Now, just pick a teammate or somethin'." Mr. Aizawa fell on the ground and passed out in the dirt from the exhaustion of talking.
"Katsuki!" I ran up to him. "Wanna team up with me?"
"Why? Are gonna beat me up?" he snarked.
"Nonsense. I just don't wanna get paired off with Mineta."
"Sure, why not."
After some time, everybody picked their teammates. It looked awfully dark in the forest, but maybe Katsuki could create some light. It kind of reminded me of a haunted house though—since the other class would be jump-scaring us. I wasn't sure how that was related to our education, but I decided not to question it.
"Alright, teams. It's time for you to go out and find the cards with your names on them. Plus Ultra I guess." Mr. Aizawa gave the signal for us to start the test, so off we went.
"Man, it's so dark out here," I commented.
"Why? You afraid of the dark?"
"Not the dark—just those freaks from the other class lurking in it."
"Don't worry, I won't let any freaks get by me."
"So, you're gonna let them get by me?" I scoffed.
"No, as long as you're by me."
"But what if they go by me and not by you?"
"You worry too much."
We heard screams off in the distance. Class 1-B must have been scaring some of our poor classmates. We hadn't yet been scared, so part of me wondered if they were too intimidated by Katsuki to even try.
"This is boring," he complained.
"This exercise makes me feel so anxious. I feel like I could get jump-scared at any given moment."
"Yeah. . .it does feel that wa—BOO!" he jumped in my face.
I flinched away and held my chest so I wouldn't have a heart attack.
"KATSUKI!! WHY'DJA DO THAT!?" I raged.
He snickered. "Just wanted to get it out of your system. Feel better yet?"
I thought about it for a second. "I guess so. . .thanks!"
"No prob."
We continued walking down the dimly path and watched out for forest monsters—aka Class 1-B.
"You know, I let you choose me for a reason," he blurted out.
"Because nobody else would?" I smiled.
"No, I'm serious."
"I'm serious too!"
"I've had my eye on you ever since I first saw you," he confessed.
"Oh, just one eye? So, where's your other eye?"
"Am I joke to you?" he groaned.
Realizing that there was the possibility of him being serious, I backed off and let him talk.
