The mattress moves
It seeps down and my conscience wakes on alert
I feel my eyes roll back into the back of my head
A voice is whispered close to me as the blankets are placed on me
The lighting seems to highten as I find the will to wake
The soft like whispers are urging me to open my eyes for them
My hand finds it way to the voices face
I touch their face delicately and play with their hair
I hear the short intake of air and feel the kind voice grasp my hands
I open my eyes barely to find my girlfriend looking at me with love in her eyes
She take my head into her chest and keeps saying "Dear God, Dear God, Dear God"
I take in a whiff of her summer smell and smile
I pull back and say "What I miss while I was away, Sweetness?"
I kiss her forehead lightly and the crinkles around my lips from a true smile
We both embrace and sit there on that bed
The bed that gave me life
My girlfriend looks me in the eyes and says "Just my wonderful cooking that all Charlie"
I kiss her on the lips and pull back once more
"Sweetness I hope it isn't to late to ask" I say looking down
"Ask what Charlie?" My sweet girlfriend asks as I take her hand in mine
"Will you be my wife, Sweetness?" I pull out a ring out of my front pocket and see tears escaping her eyes
She looks at me and laughs a bit
"Yes. Yes... Yes Charlie I'd be honored."
I place a bright ruby on her thin fingers and kiss her hand like a true gentlemen
This was the first day that Charlie had woken up and took life with full force with his bestfriend by his side
