Appearance: Skadi is a giantess turned goddess. Standing at 6’0”, her eyes are the color of icicles and her hair cascades down her back in thin strands of white. She is often seen wearing silvery armor, a short white hunting dress, white fur leggings, and broad snowshoes.
Personality: Like the winter in which she was born, Skadi is stormy and unpredictable. Relentless in her pursuit at what she believes is justice, stopping at nothing to reach her objectives. She is cold-hearted, and sometimes even ruthless. But Skadi can also be kindhearted, passionate, and open-minded to people she finds likable. If you become a good friend of hers, she’ll stick it out until the end.
Brief History: Skadi was a giantess whose father Thiazi was killed for stealing the Goddess Idun (which meant also taking the God’s apples of immortality). Her compensation was to choose a God to be her husband, but she could only judge them by their feet, the rest of their bodies being hidden. She chose the loveliest pair, thinking that they belonged to the beautiful god Balder, but instead got Njord, the sea-god. They tried living together, but Skadi wanted to live in her father’s hall, Thrymheim, and Njord wanted to live in his seaside hall. The couple tried to compromise by switching between halls every nine days, but it didn’t work out, and they finally got a divorce. Some stories say that Skadi then got together with Ullr, the God of winter and archery (among other things).
