11. date night

Rhythmic beats course through my veins
as I hear the soulful music play,
letting go my urge, I tap my feet away
to feel that refreshing bout of rain.

I run out into the dewy grass
that sways to the same rhythm,
without notice, the lights go dim
as he smiles and clinks his glass.

Blood rushes to my damp cheeks
as I lead him to the dance floor,
arms entwined, high our hearts sore
when we waltz under the golden tree.

Sipping some wine to tunes of love
we dance slowly, swaying with bliss,
light flickers when we share a kiss
so do the glittering stars above.

Passion leads the way tonight
as I fall even harder for you,
you drive away my lonely blues
by shining your love on me so bright.
