Prompt – walking archives (when you go on a walk and gather up an interesting thing – a flower, a strange piece of bark, a rock etc)

As I walk up the quiet hill
through the dusty old lane,
I notice the strewn flowers
picking them up gently, again.

I don't remember how easily
they crawled up my heart,
but I do recall them falling
like a starry meteor shower.

Gently lying on dewy grass
they beckon me everyday,
to pick them, oh so carefully
and carry them on my way.

Once home, I gift them away
to adorn my mother's tired face,
her smile adds to their beauty
as she gives me a long embrace.

You see, a token of nature
like little wild flowers so white,
makes people dance with joy
and helps ease people's plight.

And so when I walk uphill
through that dusty old lane,
I make sure the strewn flowers
are picked up again and again.
