Prompt – a poem about a specific place______________________________________
Palm trees sway to songs of the sea
as soft blue waves crash on the shore,
its foamy fingers flirt with bedrocks to see
bringing in happiness and calm in galore.A wide promenade spread so round
like a necklace around the delicate queen
with metal horses running around,
admirers standing with a look so keen. When greyer clouds roll over sometime
a magical view transforms the bay,
little drop earrings fall over the slime
adding pizazz to a rather dull day.Illuminated with golden lights along
a curved, concrete cover of the sea,
love lingers when sunkissed horizon
overshadows the lovers as they meet.A solace for bodies searching for souls
its calmness soothes your gaping scars,
this is Marine Drive, old but gold
that shimmers under the glittering stars.________________________________________
