Chapter 6

Sunday
When Betty wakes up she decides to take a walk at Sweetwater river. Jughead goes down to Sweetwater river, he sits at the shore and writes. Betty's peacefully walking and then she sees him. He doesn't see her. Betty walks towards him and silently sits next to him. She looks out at the water. Jughead finally notices her.
Jughead: "Hey Betts."
Betty: "Hey."
Jughead: "What are you doing here?" She turns to him and smiles.
Betty: "I was just taking a walk."
Jughead: "Oh right..." He smiles back at her.
*silence*
Betty: "Sooooo... How did your night with Sabrina go?"
Jughead: "It was fine."
Betty: "That's all your gonna tell me?"
Jughead: "I mean... What do you want to know?"
Betty: "Are you guys serious?"
Jughead: "It's only been a week. It's too soon to tell."
Betty: "Yeah..."
Jughead: "Yeah. How about you?"
Betty: "What about me?"
Jughead: "You crushing on anyone?" Betty laughs awkwardly.
Betty: "No. My boyfriend just died..."
Jughead: "Oh yeah sorry. I'm so dumb." Betty looks back at the water.
Betty: "It's ok."
Jughead: "I'm so awkward. I don't really know how to people."
Betty: "What?" She looks back at him.
Jughead: "Were you listening to me?"
Betty: "Yeah. I just don't think you're bad at talking with people. Well at least not with me... And besides sometimes I just like being in silence with you."
Jughead: "Really?" He smiles.
Betty: "Yeah." She smiles back.
Jughead: "Well good."
Betty: "What are you writing?"
Jughead: "My novel."
Betty: "What's it about?"
Jughead: "Archie's death..."
Betty: "Oh..." She looks at the water.
Jughead: "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bring it up." She looks back at him.
Betty: "Oh, it's fine. I'm the one that asked you." He stares at her.
Jughead: "Yeah..." She looks into his eyes, he does the same.
Jughead: "Betty..."
Betty: "Yeah?"
Jughead: "Nothing." He breaks their stare.
Betty: "Oh..." She looks down at her feet and then at the water. He sniffs. She looks back at him. He grabs her hand and holds it staring back. He let's go and goes back to writing. Betty watches him write for a bit, then takes a book out of her bag and starts reading. They sit in peace until it gets dark.
Betty: "Jug, it's getting dark."
Jughead: "Yeah, I'll walk y0u home."
Betty: "Oh, thanks."
Jughead: "Let's go." He helps her up.
Betty: "Thanks." She smiles softly. He takes her hand and they start walking to her house.
Betty: "Juggie."
Jughead: "What?"
Betty: "I just wanted to thank you for being here for me this past week."
Jughead: "It's no problem." She smiles at him and he smiles back. They continue walking in silence until they reach her house.
Jughead: "Here we are."
Betty: "Yeah, thanks again."
Jughead: "Your welcome."
Betty: "See you tomorrow at school."
Jughead: "Bye Betts." He walks away and she enters her house. Jughead goes home and texts Sabrina, then after a bit goes to sleep. Betty goes to sleep as well.
