"Harry-" She started, her voice shakey and breathy.
"-I, this is so sweet. You, are so sweet, no, amazing. Better than words can possibly describe. But I just... can't." Harry began to stand up, a little shaken in disbelief hearing Meghans faltering voice.
"I... I don't understand." His eyebrows knotted closer together.
Meghan let out a breath trying to say something more of an explanation but she knew it wouldn't be good enough for him. He was persistent. One of the qualities she admired, just not in this moment. It was hard enough. To have one of the best things happen to you, but she didn't trust herself to accept his proposal.
"Do you not want to marry me?" Harry questioned.
"No no! I do. More than anything. But... don't you think this is happening a little too early?"
"What else is it Meghan?" He said, wanting her to go further with her explanation.
"And I'm worried you're only saying this right now because of the baby." Meghan quickly said what she'd been holding in and turned her face away from his.
He stepped towards Meghan and she took a step back. But then he captured her hands in his.
"Meghan." He laughed and looked up for a moment in disbelief and humour. "My sweet darling. Forget about the world, it's just you and me right now. It's inevitable we'll get married. I know you want it just as badly as me. Look, I asked your parents when we were in Freymille and had a ring chosen before the news of the baby if I'm being honest."
"You asked my parents?" Meghan questioned as if not possible.
"Yes my sweet girl." Meghan laughed in disbelief herself. "Sure they didn't say yes, but you know that's not enough to stop me."
Meghan let out a single tear and Harry wiped it with the pad of his thumb as her held her head in his hands. "Harry." She voiced in a whisper only he could hear being so close to her.
"Meghan." He looked into her eyes. A moment passed before he said, "I really don't want to get down on one knee again, but for you I would do it everyday of my life until you say yes." he chuckled.
Meghan let out another smile as he tilted her chin up to meet his taller stature. "Marry me Meghan. Please. You're it for me and I don't want to waste another day hiding. I want everyone to know that I am committed to you."
She sniffled and looked down at her heels. She couldn't tell whether it was her heart or his heart beat she was hearing, both so loud in this moment. And with that feeling of a mere heartbeat, she knew her heart beat for him and his beat for hers. And that there was a little heart forming inside of hers as well for baby Ilo.
"Okay." She said shyly.
"What?"
"Okay." She ushered.
"Okay what?"
"Okay, yes I'll marry you you silly red headed goof!" She squealed with a smile so bright, and then Harry lifted her waist to his and spun her. It was an unreal moment.
"I love you Harry. You're my best friend and life wouldn't be the same without you in it. I can't believe you want to marry me. But it has to be us in this together, okay?"
