Summer break
Venice's POV
After spending a week in Georgia to visit some family members, we make our way back up to Michigan for my birthday. I decided to just go to the mall with my cousin, Courtney for my birthday.
"So, whats up with you and your boyfriend?" Courtney asked, as we got our nails done.
"Nothing really. We hung out a few times, but when we do, i make sure people are with us. Is it weird to not want to be alone with him?" I ask.
"No. This is like your first long-term boyfriend that's lasted more than a few weeks that you get to hang out with outside of school. I think you're just a little nervous. You'll get use to it over time." Courtney reassures me.
I'm glad to have an older cousin who's been in my place already. Shes probably my biggest role model.
After talking for a little bit longer, my phone starts to ring. I pick it up to see its Jason.
"Hey!" I say, excitingly through the phone.
"Hey, beautiful! Happy birthday! Wish i could be there with you." Jason says through the phone.
Jason and the rest of the Ross family go to their lake house further up Michigan every last week of June and first week of July for the 4th.
Jason and i continue to talk for a bit until he has to go. I hang up, feeling a bit sad.
"Whats wrong?" Courtney asks.
"I just miss Jason." I confess.
Courtney puts her arm around me and half hugs me.
"Come on, i think our nails are dry by now. Wanna go to Forever 21 now?" Courtney asks.
I nod, and follow her to our next destination.
Last week of break***
Well this summer had been pretty shitty. I barely got to see Jason during break. After he came back from his Ross family trip, Jason, Jasmine, and Jade went on another 2 week vacation to California with their mom and step-dad.
Then when they got back from California, we only had a week to spend time together, before he went down to Florida for basketball camp for a month.
Jason finally got back today, and it's the last week of summer break.
I don't know what to do right now. I still haven't told Jason I'm switching schools. Jasmine is the only person that knows.I sit at the kitchen island with Jasmine, talking about the situation until we hear the front door open.
"Guess who I just picked up from the airport?" Justin says, picking up his 3 year old daughter, Madison."Uncle Jason!!!" Madison screams, running to Jason.
Jason drops his bags and picks her up, while spinning her around.
"Hey, princess!" Jason says, kissing her cheek, then putting her down.
When he looks up, he sees me staring at him through the kitchen doorway.
"Hey, Gorgeous." Jason says, whispering in my ear before kissing my cheek.
I begin to blush, then look the other way. Man, did I miss him.
I get up to hug him, but he ends up picking me up and spinning me like he did his niece. I never knew he was so strong. When he puts me down, he goes to put his bags up, then comes back to chill with us.
After about 2 hours of us all talking, Justin gets up and grab his keys.
"I'm gonna go get Luke. He should be coming in from Texas pretty soon." Justin announces, before leaving.
