Venice's POV
I wake up to Jason's arms still around me. I try to break his strong hold, until Jason wakes up and quickly unwraps his arms from me.
"I'm sorry. Was I hurting you?" Jason asks.
"No, I just have to pee." I giggle, before rushing to his attached bathroom.
When I come out, Jason is still on his bed, looking at his phone. When he sees me, he bits his lip then gets up.
"You look hot in my clothes." Jason says, picking me up and spinning me.
"Whatever. Please put me down." I say through my laughs.
Jason puts me down, then goes to put on a shirt. After he puts his shirt on, we go downstairs, into the kitchen.
There stood grandma Ross, as she made chocolate, blueberry, strawberry, and other delicious pancakes.
"Come sit over here." One of Jasmine's friends says to Jason.
I frown, seeing there is no other seat to sit in, but Jason makes me follow him anyway.
Jason sits down, then places me in his lap and begins to feed me strawberry pancakes.
"Staaawwp! I'm not a baby." I say, with food still in my mouth.
Jason chuckles loudly, so I take this as an opportunity to do the same to him.
I begin to stuff chocolate pancakes into Jason's mouth, as he tries to take the fork away from me.
I laugh maniacally, when watching Jason struggle.
"You guys are so cute. Are you guys back together yet?" Jasmine asks.
My laughter stops, and I look at Jasmine with a death glare.
"No... Not yet." I say, still giving her a mean look.
I don't care if last night was some kind of plan to get me back with Jason, but she really pissed me off. She put me on blast in front of everyone, and she knows how I get about that.
---one week later---
Even though Jason and I still aren't considered back together yet, we've been talking a lot more lately.
Today, North Lake was playing North Peak at basketball. I was so happy, since Jason is on the team.
Today I decided to put a little more glam into my usual school attire. I wore a white v-neck that showed a bit of cleavage, my favorite grey skinny jeans that makes my ass look bigger than it really is, and some grey uggs. I braided my hair to the side, because I remember how Jason said he'd like if I show more of my face more. I decided to throw on the cute bracelet and earrings I got from Claire's over the weekend to add a little something to pull the outfit together.
Throughout the day I was happier than I've ever felt about going to school. Everything was going perfect until an annoying boy, who goes by the name Nathan, had to ruin everything in 4th hour.
"Why are you dressed like that?" Nathan asks.
"Like what?" I ask, rolling my eyes.
"Like a hoe." Nathan replies, smirking.
I gasp in shock.
"I'm not dressed like a hoe, you asshole." I say, pointing a finger at Nathan.
"Look at your tits. They're basically screaming for attention." Nathan says, looking into my shirt.
"Whatever. Just shut up." I say, faking a punch at him.
"But for real, why are you dressed like that. You never dress like that." Nathan says, apparently paying attention to the clothes I wear.
"If you must now, my ex from North Lake is coming today for the game." I announce.
"Ooo! What's his name? What does he look like?" Blaire asks, butting into the convo.
"His name is Jason. Here, he stole my phone and took a picture and saved it as my screen saver." I say, handing Blaire the phone.
Our whole group piles over the phone and looks at the picture.
"Ha, as if you ever dated him." Nathan chuckles.
"What's that suppose to mean?" I ask, getting a bit hot headed.
"He's out of your league. Come on, look at you." Nathan says, before laughing again.
Brenda punches Nathan hard in the arm.
"Shut up, Nate. It's possible that he dated Venice." Brenda says, reassuring me.
"Whatever. Do you have pictures with "Jason"?" Nathan asks, putting air quotes around Jason's name.
"No, I deleted them after we broke up." I say.
"Oh my God, Venice. Stop lying, no one believes you. Guys like him wouldn't date girls like you." Nathan says.
Tears begin to roll down my eyes, so I try to hide them from everyone by putting my head down on the desk.
I begin to hear Brenda name calling Nathan and force him to apologize to me.
"I'm sorry, Venice. I was just messing with you." Nathan says.
"Fuck off!" I shout, grabbing my things and getting up.
Before my teacher can address me, the bell rings and I dash out.
Since I only had to more classes, the day went by pretty fast.
I met up with Amber and Lisa, because they were going to the game too.
We helped set up chairs and water for the game, then sat our stuff together on the bleachers.
"What now?" Lisa asks.
"The boys should be pulling up soon." I announce, then walk to the front of the school with the girls and wait.
We see the bus stop and a pile of boys come out.
I began to see old faces I missed so much. After they all get off, I see Jason.
I didn't want to cause a scene, so I patiently waited for the boys walk in one boy one, then sneaked myself next to Jason. Jason, of course, realizes and wraps an arm around my shoulder.
"Hey, beautiful. You're looking nice." Jason says, pecking me on the forehead.
I slightly giggle, and escort them to the gym. 7th grade goes to warm up on the court while the 8th graders sit on the visitor bleachers with us.
After I let Jason get settled in, I offer him a tour around.
Amber stays, but Lisa follows us. She keeps talking to Jason and keeps asking him if he wants to watch her do the splits. Like hoe wtf you doing? I hate having to put people in their places, but if she doesn't know that Jason is clearly mine after telling her about my former relationship with him, I'm gonna have to be a bitch and hoe her out in front of him.
"Hey, look. It's your brother." I say to Lisa.
She goes to talk to her brother, and I take the advantage to go the other way.
"What, you don't like her?" Jason asks.
"I did until she kept flirting with you." I admit.
"Ha! Someone's jealous." Jason teases.
I playfully punch him in the arm, as he plays along and pretends to be hurt by my weak, little punch.
"Want something sweet, sweetheart?" Jason asks, pulling out his wallet at the concession stand.
"Nah, I'm straight." I lie, not wanting him to spend his money on me.
"Mmhmm... Can I get a pack of sour skittles and a popcorn?" Jason asks.
The elderly lady nods, then gives Jason the skittles and popcorn, who gives them to me.
After he pays, I try to give him the food back.
"No, I already ate before we left." Jason explains.
"Then why'd you get this?" I question.
"For you. Sour skittles and popcorn is your favorite sports snack, right?" Jason asks.
"It's my favorite everything snack." I joke, earning a chuckle from Jason.
Jason and I walk back into the gym from the other gym door.
Jason grabs the popcorn from my hand, so he grab my hand with his free hand.
We watch the game for a minute standing up, until I hear a voice calling my name.
I turn around to see Brenda and the rest of the group in the home bleachers.
Brenda tells me to come up there, so I do, with Jason trailing right behind me.
"Hey guys... I'd like you to meet Jason Anthony Ross III." I say, then give a smirk of satisfaction when I see Nathan with the dumbest looking face ever.
"You can just call me Jason." Jason says, chuckling at the fact I said his whole name.
My girl friends look at Jason in amazement, while Nathan still just has that dumb look on his face.
"Aye, is that you, James?" Jason says, looking at another one of our friends.
"Jason, what's up?" James says, standing up to give him a bro hug.
"We use to go to Caspar together." Jason explains to everyone. "So you go here now?" Jason asks.
"Yeah, and I'm guessing you go to North Lake?" James says, pointing at Jason's jersey.
"Yup!" Jason says, popping the "p".
"Still rocking number 18." James says.
"Till the day I die." Jason says, grabbing onto his jersey with happiness, pride, and joy.
"This boy is a beast on the court." James says.
"I'm alright." Jason says, smiling widely, showing his dimples.
"Don't be modest. This guy can kill it on the court. Not gonna lie, I'm kinda scared to play you today." James says, unzipping his hoodie to reveal his jersey.
"I'll go easy on you, bro. But, aye, I gotta get back to my team. Gotta go over some plays with coach." Jason says, giving James another bro hug. "You staying here or coming with me?" Jason asks, looking down at me.
"I'll go with you." I say, then leave with Jason.
》》》》》》》
James wasn't kidding. Jason is a beast on the court.
I mean North Lake has always been a good team, and North Peak... Not so much, but Jason was shooting, rebounding, and blocking like no ones business. The final score was 30-71. I didn't even know you could get that many points in middle school basketball. Jason had to score at least 40 or more of those points.
When the game ended. Jason came over to me and gave me one, big sweaty hug, then picked me up and spun me around.
Surprisingly, I didn't even care he was sweaty. He did such an amazing job, I was just too proud to care.
After everyone began to leave, Jason and the boys got on their bus and I shortly waited for my mom to come.
Today was actually a good day.
