DECEMBER 2011(winter break)

*Venice's POV*

I'm at the doctors with my mom and 2 year old brother. We were all getting check ups. After me and my brother got our check ups, we went into another room where my mom got her checkup from her doctor.

When the doctor came in I couldn't believe my eyes. He was absolutely gorgeous. He was so tall with light brown eyes. He looked mixed and had tight, little curls. He had a nice 5 o'clock shadow with a bit of grey in it. But best of all, he had the cutest dimples. He was a hottie, but he looked way too old for me.

"Hello, I'm Dr. Ross," The doctor greets us.
"Dr. Hill is out today and I happened to be here to take some things back to my hospital, but I don't mind going over a quick check up with you." Dr. Ross says.
"Well hello there, little guy. What's your name?" Dr. Ross asks.
"His name is Joshua." I say shyly.
"Is that so... And what's your name?" The doctor asks chuckling at my shyness.
"I-Im Venice." I say, looking down.
"Well don't you make cute kids, Mrs. Knowles." Dr. Ross says.
"Thank you." My mom says, and gets on the bed/table/thing in the room.

Right when the doctor gets ready to check my moms blood pressure, the door opens.
I look to see a very similar duplicate of Dr. Ross. The only differences were that this one looked younger, shorter, green eyed, and looser curls. Along with his skin tone which almost resembles white. But you could most defiantly tell the resemblance through their faces.

"Dad, can I see your charger. My phone is going to die." The boy says, waving his phone at his dad.
"Jason, what did I tell you about barging in while I'm with patients?" Dr. Ross scolds at his son.
"My apologies, dad, but may I please see your charger? Jasmine won't let me see hers." Jason pleads.
"Okay... But come show Joshua and Venice to the break room with the others, if that's ok with Mrs. Knowles." Dr. Ross suggests.
"It's fine with me, but watch out for your brother." My mom says.

I do a simple nod, and follow the extremely attractive boy.
"Hi, I'm Jason. You must be Venice." Jason says, as he walks down the hall with me.
Not knowing what to say, I pause for a while before getting ready to open my mouth.
"You don't talk much, do you?" Jason chuckles, as he sees me struggling to find what words to say.

Once again, I simply nod and continue walking in silence until we reach the break room.I look in to see 3 other people. A girl who resembled Jason a whole lot with glasses and super long hair in a ponytail, playing on her phone. Another girl who resembled them, but not as much, watching sponge bob with a boy brownish-blonde hair, and looked completely white.

When I walk in all eyes are on me.
"Hey guys, this is Venice and Joshua." Jason states, and then takes a seat next to the girl with long hair and glasses, and plugs in his phone.
I stand there awkwardly with my brother in my arms until the brownish-blonde hair boy begins to speak.

"You can sit next to me. I don't bite." He says, and pats the seat next to him.
I sit down with my brother in my lap and begin to play with my fingers.
"I'm Lucas by the way, or you can just call me Luke." Luke says, smiling at me.
"Stop being a creep, Luke. She don't want you." Jason says, rolling his eyes.
I giggle at his comment and look down at my hands again.
"Whatever, Jason. So what school do you go to?" Luke asks.
"North Lake Middle."
"Oh, my goodness. You're so lucky! I wanted to go to North Lake so bad, but everyone says it's ghetto, so I go to Caspar Middle." The girl with glasses says.
"Not for long, after that big fight you got into before Christmas break, Jasmine." The other girl finally says, turning around.
"No one asked you, Jade." Jasmine says, rolling her eyes.
"Well North Lake isn't as bad as it sounds. It's really fun and fights don't happen that often. People just say it's ghetto because there's a lot of black kids that attend." I state.
"Hopefully I'll get dad to let me go there." Jasmine says, while standing up.
"Come on, Venice. Tell me more." Jasmine says and takes me on a walk.
By the time we reach my moms room, the door opens and Dr. Ross comes out with my mom.
"Oh perfect, I was going to show your mom where you guys were. Did you enjoy yourselves?" Dr. Ross asks.
"Yes." I say politely and make my way to my mom with my brother.
"It was fun talking to you Venice. Do you have a phone so we can keep in touch?" Jasmine asks.
I feel so embarrassed I'm 12 without a phone, so I just give her my moms number and we leave.

2days later****
Jasmine called and invited me to hang out at her place today. I was pretty shocked because I'm not use to people inviting me places. I'm a bit of socially awkward person.
Anyways, my mom said I could go and she'd drive me, because she was surprised herself that someone invited me to hang out.

When we reached Jasmine's house, mine and my mothers mouth drop in awe. It was a gigantic house, made of stone with a private gate. It literally was like a castle.
My mom pulled into the huge circle drive in front of the house, and a happy Jasmine comes out if the house to greet me.

"Hey Vince!" Jasmine says and pulls me into a hug.
I wave goodbye to my mom and we make our way inside.
Jasmine shows me around for a bit until we reach her room.
Once again I was in awe when I saw her room. It was huge, she had a lounge area for when she had company and a walking in closet that went back so far.
Not gonna lie I'm pretty jealous.

After about 20 minutes of chatting, Jason walks pasts and then walks into Jasmine's room and greets me. "Hi Venice, what's up?" He asks, reaching down to hug me.
He actually remembered my named, and hugged me.

"Get out, Jason!" Jasmine says, throwing a pillow at Jason.
They begin to argue, and I decide to inspect Jason's features a bit more.
I never knew how muscular he was under his black North Face he was wearing when I first met him verses the fitted white t-shirt he's wearing at the moment. He brushed his curls out today, that surprisingly made him even hotter if that's possible.

I'm snapped out of my thoughts when Jasmine calls my name.
"Come on Venice, let's go!" Jasmine shouts.
"Where are we going?" I ask.
"To the mall. My older brother is driving us." She states.
"Jason?" I ask with curiosity.
"No, I'm older than him... By five minutes." Jasmine says proudly.
"I have another brother, his name is Justin." Jasmine says, putting her jacket on.
I follow her outside into the black range rover.

When we get to the mall, I basically follow Jasmine the whole time.
We stopped in PINK and Jasmine bought a few pairs of leggings and a hoodie.
"You getting anything?" She asks.
"No, I don't have money." I confess.
"I'll pay." Jasmine offered.
"No, I can't let you do that." I say.
"It's ok, grab something." She demands.
I pick up a cute, peach crew shirt that had PINK written over the front. I hand it to Jasmine and she pays.
I feel so embarrassed letting her pay.
She hands me the bag and we walk out of PINK together. Afterward, we go to hollister, forever 21, and some other stores.
She continued to try to buy things for me, but I wouldn't let her.

We finally left and stopped at Starbucks to buy something to drink. After that, we went back to her place.
"Hey, can I use your phone to call my mom?" I ask Jasmine.
"Where's your phone?" Jasmine asks.
"I don't have one." I confess, felling like Jasmine would think less of me.
"Wait a sec." Jasmine says.
She begins to go through her little pink chest, and then pulls out a black iPhone.
"Here, it's my old phone. It's a little cracked, but it still works, it just needs to be actived." Jasmine says and hands me the phone.
"Jasmine, I can't take this. It's too much." I say trying to hand it back to her.
"Venice just take it. It beats you being without a phone and that phone just siting around, collecting dust." Jasmine says.
I sigh and nod in agreement, as she smiles with satisfaction.
I just don't understand how she's so nice to me and we've only known each other for a few days.
