--------> Picture of Caleb on the Side
Rayne's POV
"I love you Rayne Clearwater" Caleb says looking me straight in the eyes. It takes everything I have not to run into his arms and be kissed by him again.
The happiness I feel in my heart at the sound of those words is undescribable. But those feelings immediately turn into despair and denial. Caleb is simply confused, he doesn't know what he's saying. He barely knows me and he's dating Lindsay. How can he possibly love me?
"You don't love me Caleb. What about Lindsay? What about the fact that you're straight? Are you prepared to come out to all of your friends and family and tell them that you're gay?"
Caleb is silent at that moment. He looks so lost and confused. I hate myself for making him this way but I know that he doesn't love me. No one loves me. How could they? He'll come to realize that soon and he'll regret everything that we've done together. I don't want to wait around to get hurt at the moment when he does finally realize it.
"I'll break up with Lindsay." He says finally.
I shake my head. "No you won't"
"Yes, I will."
I'm getting frustrated at this point. "Why would you do something like that?"
He looks at me again. This time he looks more sure of himself and less confused.
"I would do it because I love you. I want you and only you."
"Don't ruin your life because of me." I write furiously.
"It's my choice not yours." He says stubbornly. He appears to have made up his mind but I know he'll regret all of this in the morning once he's had some sleep and time to think about it.
"I have to go." I write while gathering my things. I begin to walk towards the door but Caleb grabs my hand.
"I'll give you a ride." He says. I begin to protest, but he heads back into the kitchen and cuts the still burning stove off. Then he grabs my things out of my hands and leads me towards the door. We drive in an awkward silence with many hidden words floating between us. Once we get to my house I immediately prepare to dash out of the car but Caleb holds me back.
"Rayne, there's a soccer game the day after tomorrow. I want you to come. I'll show you that what I'm saying is the truth."
In that moment he looks so determined. I don't want to argue with him again so I just nod my head. He gives a sigh of relief and I close the door and walk towards the house.
I watch as Caleb pulls out of the driveway. Afraid for what's going to happen tomorrow.
As soon as I walk in the door I am greeted with the face of a person I was hoping I'd never have to see again.
"How's it going faggot?" Kyle says staring at me with this disgusting smirk on his face. He was leaning up against the door frame. Had he been waiting for me to walk in?
Just ignore him and he'll stop. I think to myself. I was wrong.
"You and Worthington have gotten pretty close. Did you turn him into a fag too?"
I continue to ignore him and I begin to walk towards the stairs heading for my room.
Just then he grabs me by the back of my shirt and slams me into the wall, hard. I hit the back of my head against the wall and my vision goes blurry.
