See You At Thanksgiving

Ray's P.O.V.
            It's almost Thanksgiving! You know what that means! Jasper, Charlotte, Piper, and Henry are all coming for a visit! It'll be so great to see them all again! Even Piper. The girl wasn't that bad. I'm excited to see them all again, but I'm more excited to see Henry. I should really start getting ready for their arrival. Schwoz is going to pick them all up in the helicopter and bring them back to the Man's Nest so I can finish up a few things before they get here. Schwoz is picking them up the day before Thanksgiving. That's tomorrow. I haven't even started decorating! Whatever. That might be something the kids and I do today.

"Hey, Ray!" Mika greets as she walks into the classroom with Miles.

            "Hey, Mika! Miles!" I greet back cheerfully.

            "What's got you acting all happy?" Miles asks.

            "Well, if you must know, Thanksgiving is in two days and Piper, Jasper, Charlotte, and Henry are all coming to visit! They'll be here tomorrow!" I answer excitedly.

            Mika gasps of excitement and Miles nods his head.

            "Awesome!" Mika squeals.

            "'Sup, Ray!" Chapa greets, walking into the classroom with Bose.

            "Hey, kids! Now that we're all here, I will go over the lesson plan for today. Take your seats." I say as they walk over to their desks and sit down.

            "Alright. Now, since Thanksgiving is in two days, technically, I should give you guys a break from school, and I will, but I will give you the choice of actually coming here. I will allow all of you to be over here for Thanksgiving. We won't be doing any school work or any training, but I may ask you to show everyone what we've been working on." I explain.

            "Everyone?" Chapa asks.

            "Oh, right! I didn't tell you and Bose this yet. Piper, Charlotte, Jasper, and Henry are all visiting for Thanksgiving. They'll be here tomorrow. I'm giving you guys tomorrow to spend with your families." I explain further.

            "Oh. You mainly want to show Henry what we've been working on, don't you?" Chapa asks.

            "Well... yeah! I thought that was obvious." I say.

            "So... what are we doing today?" Mika asks.

            "Right! So... today, you guys... are helping me decorate for Thanksgiving!" I tell them excitedly.

            "That seems really easy. What's the catch?" Chapa asks with her arms crossed.

            "No catch. You guys have been working so hard and I need to decorate so I decided to give you guys a bit of an easy day." I explain.

            They all seem shocked. Except Mika. "He's in a good mood because Henry is visiting tomorrow. That's probably the only real reason he's giving us an easy day." Mika accuses.

            "That's one reason. Another reason is that you guys have been working hard and have really improved a lot since we accidentally let those criminals escape. You guys have even managed to catch some. You deserve this day." I say honestly. Just like Henry, these kids have impressed me so much. I kinda feel bad that I never gave Henry a day like this and that's another reason I'm giving them this day, but I'm not gonna tell them that.

            "Oh. Thanks, Ray! Let's get decorating!" Mika says excitedly.

~Time Skip because I'm lazy~

            "Looks good, kids! Nice work!" I compliment.

            "Thanks, Ray! I've been known for being an awesome decorator." Bose says.

            "Alright. We still have a bit of time left in the school day before you guys have to go home so what do you guys wanna do?" I ask.

            "I wanna practice our powers. I'm kinda surprised we haven't gotten any emergency calls yet." Mika says.

            "This happens sometimes. Sometimes, we don't get emergency calls all day. Alright. You guys want to practice with your powers?" I explain.

            The kids all nod and murmur agreements.

~Another Time Skip~

            The kids all go home and I look around the classroom. We really did a great job decorating! I go up to the Man's Nest and look around. I think this is pretty good. I'm so excited for them to arrive tomorrow.

~a third time skip to the next morning~

            "Ray! I'm leaving to go pick up Charlotte, Jasper, Piper, and Henry!" Schwoz calls out to me.

            "Alright!" I call back.

~a fourth time skip Xd sorry~

            Schwoz will be here any minute with Piper, Charlotte, Jasper, and Henry! I check my hair in the selfie mode camera on my phone. Looks good. Okay. Just breathe, Ray. They're just the same kids you watched grow up. Except Piper. She came along a little later. The point is: you got this, Ray. They're not gonna care how you look. I hear footsteps approaching the classroom door. They're here! I take a deep breath and let it out. Here goes nothing. The door handle turns and the door slowly opens. I stop facing the door because I don't want it to seem like I was eagerly waiting for their arrival (even though I was). They all enter and I hear excited chatter coming from them. I turn around, acting as if I just heard them come in. They all spot me and stop their excited chatter.

            "Ray!" Henry says excitedly and walks up to me. We hug and he continues, "it's so great to see you, buddy!"

            "It's great to see you too!" I say as we finally pull out of the embrace.

            "I've missed you, man." Henry says, keeping his hand on my shoulder.

            "I've missed you too, Hen!" I say.

            I hug and greet all of them. Even Piper. We all talk and catch up. Henry, Jasper, and Charlotte are all telling me about some things they were doing in Dystopia. Piper tells me about her life at Florida State and I tell them about what's been going on with Danger Force.

"Then there was the time we accidentally set every criminal in Swellview prison free. That was only a few weeks after they got their powers and they didn't really have complete control of them. Mika didn't have one when we started the fight because someone was trying to break into the prison because his grandpa owed him money. She got her power, which is sonic screaming, and she accidentally blasted a hole in Swellview prison." I explain.

"Wow. Sounds like you have your hands full with these kids." Henry says with a slight smile on his face, clearly trying to not laugh.

"We've caught some of the criminals. Jeff was the first one who went back to jail. The Toddler was the first one they actually beat, but I wasn't there so he didn't go back to jail." I explain.

            "Of course Jeff was the first one back in jail. Hey, the Toddler was the first villain I helped you defeat." Henry points out.

            "He was! I just realized that!" I realize.
